Shimano's new Ultegra Series spinning reels include X-Ship technology for increased smoothness and efficiency, a HAGANE Gear for incredible smoothness and durability, Aero Wrap Oscillation for longer casting and perfect line winding, and CoreProtect for water resistance without that heavy rotation feeling. These features work together to create a reel that responds quickly and positively in a wide variety of fishing situations.

The HAGANE Gear is produced by applying nearly 200 tons of pressure to the raw metal. This technology is unlike any other in the world, and requires no cutting work, forging a high-precision gear with micron accuracy in a single process.

This reel is a great option for folks that don't want to spend the extra cash for a Stradic. Support smooth retrieve and very little start up inertia giving it the feel of a high end feel at halfthe cost.

Whats the different bw shimano sw models and others specifically bw ultegra cxg 5000 and spheros sw 4000 and I know that the tow models are coreprotect sealing system
1 Answer
There are a few differences, The smallest being the Ultegra being slightly heavier.  A major difference would be the Ultegra has Shimanos Aero Wrap Oscillation for better casting and line management (they way the line lays on the spool). Lastly the Ultegra has 2 more bearings than the Spheros is made with. Ultegra is $169.99/ the Spheros 4000 is 119.99.

What is the difference between this and the nasci
1 Answer
The Ultegra has 2 features the Nasci does not have. First is the G-Free Body feature which shifts the reels center of gravity to the rod which reduces fatigue and enhance casting comfort.  The second is the Aero Wrap II Feature which is a two speed oscillation system which layers the line onto the spool in a crisscross pattern reducing line-to-line friction for longer casts. The Ultegra also has 5+1 and the Nasci has 4+1. Retrieve per crank are also different with the Ultegra models 31-41  inches per crank and the Nasci models with only 26-41. These are their biggest main differences other than body style.

Very similar specs to the Stradic FK. What differentiates the two and what is the main reason for the $60 difference? Will be used for inshore saltwater fishing, and planning to pair with a M/MH rod and 20-30lb braid. Thanks.
1 Answer
The main difference is the handle feature for the larger reels with the FK model and the FK series has Aero Wrap II: is a worm gear oscillation system with specially designed pitch to create optimal oscillation speeds. This provides great uniform line lay to reduce loss of energy during the cast shape and thickness of the aluminum rotor creates high rigidity that results in more fish fihgting power. Those are the two features that separate the two models.

A Shimano Saragosa 5000 or Penn Clash 4000-5000 would pair up well with an 8' Avid.
