This spinning rod came in time and I haven't paid any taxes. I like to order fishing rods form TackleDirect store.

Used this rod for jigging. It is light weight and very strong. I was surprised how comfortable the rod was after hours of fishing.

I bought a TFS63MH last week and used it for the first time for inshore Sea Bass and Porgies in New Jersey. The rod is capable in handling both fishes with ease, from 50 feet of water to 120 feet. I am sure it has no problem for fluking too. It's both light and strong! I am not sure for stripers. Guessing form the 30-80 pound ling weight, it might be good. Of course, I always have a heavier rod for that.

I ordered the Shimano SHM-0868 rod and paired it with a Shimano Saragossa 10000 reel and 65# braid (all purchased on same order). I took it fishing for the first time in the Dry Tortugas. On the second day of use, I hooked a good-sized bottom fish. Approximately 15 min into the fight, the fish had taken ~1/2 the braid off my reel. Just when I started to slow and turn the fish, the rod snapped at the base. One of the eyes also came out during the fight and the guides were bent.

This rod is rated for 65-200# braid and is a “heavy” rod, yet failed severely on first use. I trust the rod purchased from Tackle Direct is an authentic Shimano and warranty applies. I have older model Trevalla rods (heavier and lighter versions of classic Trevalla) that have stood up to heavy loads without any issue. This is my first Trevalla F, which is supposedly a higher-end rod with higher-end guides (both of which failed). I have reached out to Tackle Direct customer support for help with warranty/replacement and 3 days later have still not heard back. I’m hopeful they will help me get replace or get credit toward different rod. might order a different rod / model. I am skeptical of the Trevalla F after this incident - but perhaps it was just a faulty one? In any case, I was lucky to have 3 back up rods (one Accurate, one Diawa, and one old school Trevalla - all of which helped me continue to slay numerous 10-20# mutton, red snapper, and various grouper!

I may update review if positive action from Tackle Direct.

This the second rod I have broken using 65 lb braid landing a shark. Good reactive rod but It I don't think it can handle the upper end of the braid rating.

Perfect for boat bottom fishing in Gulf bay

Great rod. Fantastic for jigging and light bottom fishing.

I paired this rod with a large spinning reel and use for jigging amberjack and grouper. Rod is flawless for application plenty of power in rod to get even the largest to the boat.

I have two of them paired with Van Staal VS200s, 30lb seagar florocarbon. Best rod for pulling up reef donkeys before the sharks can get them.

I have not used it yet, but is looks good and it is very light.

Very versatile, it can be fished with a lot of different lures in addition to the butterfly jigs.
