Shimano has engineered the next generation of TC4 construction. This new construction uses a high carbon butt section and fused together with a TC4 tip section. This new blank design gives you the pulling power of TC4 but with less weight and increased sensitivity. You will also notice a much faster recovery rate, which will increase the jigging action.
- Shimano High Modulus TC4F Construction
- New Concept Fuji SIC guides
- Fuji reel seat
- Black diamond foregrip
- Custom shaped reargrip
- Aluminum gimbal on selected rods
- Very light, quality, and durable spinning rod.
- I wish it could be at least 1 ft longer.
- I had to pay for the container tube.
- It's both light and strong!
- Not found out yet.
This rod is rated for 65-200# braid and is a “heavy” rod, yet failed severely on first use. I trust the rod purchased from Tackle Direct is an authentic Shimano and warranty applies. I have older model Trevalla rods (heavier and lighter versions of classic Trevalla) that have stood up to heavy loads without any issue. This is my first Trevalla F, which is supposedly a higher-end rod with higher-end guides (both of which failed). I have reached out to Tackle Direct customer support for help with warranty/replacement and 3 days later have still not heard back. I’m hopeful they will help me get replace or get credit toward different rod. might order a different rod / model. I am skeptical of the Trevalla F after this incident - but perhaps it was just a faulty one? In any case, I was lucky to have 3 back up rods (one Accurate, one Diawa, and one old school Trevalla - all of which helped me continue to slay numerous 10-20# mutton, red snapper, and various grouper!
I may update review if positive action from Tackle Direct.
- None
- Rod and guides break under load
- Light in weight,lots of power,great feel
- Strong rod that can take a lot of abuse from fish and fisherman alike. Ive had them for 5 years and they work like new.
- Pricing, not a huge fan of the compress foam handle
- Light weight.
- Good value for the money, limited lifetime warranty.
- Shimano's spec. for its line and lure ratings are over-rated. This is basically a ML rod.
