Perfect for throwing light flounder rigs in the surf. First rod had some guide damage. Tackle Direct replaced it seamlessly, no questions asked.

Perfect rod for tog jig
April 18, 2022
I have the 7foot medium heavy spinning rod paired with the tsunami evict 3000 reel spooled with 15lb power pro v2 super slick. Probably one of the best tog jigging set ups you can buy, and at a reasonable cost. Super soft tip, tons of backbone and super light. If you see the picture attached with the review, the rod is in the holder on the gunwale on the left.
Pros
  • Light, soft sensitive tip and tons of backbone.
Cons
  • None

Durable light rod. Again issues on a piece that isnt glued properly on all of its rod. I own 8 of these rods mix of cast and spinning and the issue has happened to 5 so far. The piece is a fitting on the handle above reel seat. Super glue easy fix but shouldnt happen on 5 rods that are $125+

Love the rod hate the guides
January 10, 2022
I love the strength flexibility and sensitivity of this rod. I just can’t get past the Fuji guides. Maybe just me (maybe I have sloppy style?) but I am constantly getting the braided line hung up in the upper guides. Seems the upper guides have one mounting foot and more of an angled area for the line to hang up and wrap around the eyes versus the lower guides with two mounting points.

Bought both casting and spinning version but was only able to return the unused spinning. May consider changing out the upper guides or selling the rod. Very frustrating.
Pros
  • Strong, light and flexible - lots of guides
Cons
  • Smaller guides with single-foot mounting snags and hangs up braided line too easily. Larger, two-feet guides have no issues.

Don’t underestimate this “Noodle”

It maybe thin and soft action but it has a strong backbone! This is my light jigging rod for fluke, seabass and Tog. But I am able to land Blues inbthe 10lb range.
Pros
  • Light and sensitive
Cons
  • I would prefer butt is longer for jigging.

Well versatile rod

Good for piers and boat. Light but strong back bone. For it's size it can handle a lot of weight.
Cons
  • The top ring above the handled falls apart on all of my slimwave rods. I just super glue it back.

Wanted to try slow pitch jigging so I bought this rod a while ago, have caught red snapper and a bunch of other bottom fish as well as amberjack on it and haven’t had any problems yet.

Was debating between the 7ft m or 7ft mh. I'll probably be fishing backbay to jetty for striper and tog. Which would you recommend?
