Overall rod looks great and seems solid
I purchased two of these and paired the with a penn 6000 spinning reel with 40lb nomad blue braid. I will not be using this as a surf rod, we will be using these rods as casting rids for offshore to target schools of tuna and Mahi along with cobia or really any fish we can find that requires a long cast.
Once summer roles around and we test the rods I will update the review but as of now its exactly what I was looking for.
- Looks amazing
- Budget friendly
- Solid design and eyes look pretty solid but we know these eyes tend to fail
- Strong backbone but enough whip to cast a long distance
- Extra long casting handle is the perfect length
- No as of right now
- Light, looks great
- Great sensitivity and can cast a large amount of lure weights ( seriously, anything between 2oz and 8oz will do just fine).
- The grip is fantastic and your hands won't slip even when it is wet.
- The handle is plenty long enough that you can bomb casts past the breakers.
- Well balanced.
- Pretty stiff and anything less than 2oz won't load it properly.
- There are not a lot of rod tubes that fit it because of how big the bottom guide is.
The rod was a bit bulky and heavy but for the price I expected that. It's well built and has worked well.
