Got Bunker?
February 11, 2018
Bunker are back in big numbers. Big fish are on them up and down the Atlantic coast. This snag will put them in your live well or right into a king size striper's mouth. Great product to have handy!
Pros
  • Good weight for casting. Big hooks for snagging.

I fish from piers and high places in staten island and I need to bring BIG up 40 TO 60 inch fish weighting 30 to 40 pounds, what size hook do you recommend? The pier ia really high also.

Please advise.

1 Answer
Clarence,

The recommendation would be for using the 9/0 or 10/0 Sportfish Weighted Bunker Snag hooks. That's based on where your fishing from and the size of the fish/bait you are going after.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

6/7/8? I am fishing off a pier with a 9 foot rod rated to 2 oz.
1 Answer
A 6/0 or 7/0 should be plenty large for your applications of the snagger.
