Trevala Jigging Casting Rods Feature Details
  • Shimano® TC4 Construction®
Shimano has engineered the new responsive TC4 Construction material to elevate your fishing experience. The TC4 Construction material wraps a double inner layer of advanced, dynamic T Glass with an inner and outer spiral of high modulus graphite. This breakthrough in design construction results in an extremely durable, crisp, yet lightweight rod.
  • Fuji® Concept Alconite® Guides
A very strong and durable material, Alconite is the latest in a long line of ceramic rings developed by Fuji®. Alconite is so durable it can be made thinner than any other ring, so strong it will hold up to all kinds of fishing demands. Alconite has an 80% greater compression strength and is 20% lighter than aluminum oxide, making it one of the toughest rings used for fishing, as well as one of the lightest.
  • Fuji® Reel Seat
Built to last Fuji® reel seats are designed with graphite nylon bodies, exclusive S-4 Stainless Steel hoods, with lined cushioned inserts to offer a lightweight reel seat with superior strength. Uniform design for increased comfort and self aligned hoods provide a solid lockdown on your reel foot that will never back off while fishing.

Great Rod
February 11, 2015
I paired this rod with my Penn Fathom 12. It is an absolutely awesome combo for the fish that I use it for. I use 30 pound braid on it. I use it for Mangrove Snapper, Grunts, Black Seabass, Porgies, Triggerfish, Flounder, and Grouper. It is a great combo. The Trevala has lots of power for the bigger fish and is lots of fun to use.
Pros
  • Light
  • Good Quality
  • Lots of Backbone

Amazing rod for the money. Have the 6'6MH paired with an accurate Boss Fury 500 for dropping heavy jigs down deep. Caught my biggest AJ on this rod and it handled it no problem. Highly recommend this rod if you're just getting into to jigging or if you want a high quality rod for a lower cost.
Pros
  • Lightweight, high build quality, good reel seats
Cons
  • None

Trevala TVC66MH
September 21, 2021
I use the Trevala TVC66MH with a Shimano Tekota 500 for bottom fishing. Able to fish comfortably for Black sea bass, flounder and bluefish using 8oz to hold bottom.
Pros
  • Great value

Travala MH
September 21, 2021
I purchased this rod for a trip out on the Constitution for tuna. Unfortunately, the rod I purchased was a little too light to bring on the trip. This rod (even the heavy) is very light in the hand and would be good for anything up to 50lbs. I just would not feel comfortable battling anything in the 80+ range, there's just not enough backbone to pry them bruisers up from the depths.
Pros
  • Light weight, good feel in the hand, EVA grips seem durable.
Cons
  • Not recommended for really big fish; you'd have your hands full if you hooked something in the 100lb class.

I have 2 of these rods paired with a Penn baitcaster and an Avet. They have a great feel for the bite and backbone to bring up large fish.!

Nice Jigging Rod

This is a nice rod at a decent price. Will use for jigging as well as a pitch bait rod as I’m still on a budget and don’t have dedicated outfits for everything.

I would like a shorter 6" rod for party boat fishing in NJ, wrecks and bottom fishing mostly. Occasionally stripers.  Longer rod at a problem on crowded boats.    I have a Calcutta 400 b  should I go with the MH or heavy rod/

1 Answer
The Calcutta 400b will pair up better with the mh trevala

I've got a Tyrnos 30II for dropping bait back to tuna, jigging and some trolling. Line wt 50-80# Pro braid. Can you give me a couple of suggestions on rods?
1 Answer
Jigging rods I would take a look at the Black Hole Cape Cod Special series or the Shimano Game Type J series. For bait and trolling rods I would check out the Shimano Tallus or Terez series.
