Trevala Jigging Casting Rods Feature Details
  • Shimano TC4 Construction
Shimano has engineered the new responsive TC4 Construction material to elevate your fishing experience. The TC4 Construction material wraps a double inner layer of advanced, dynamic T Glass with an inner and outer spiral of high modulus graphite. This breakthrough in design construction results in an extremely durable, crisp, yet lightweight rod.
  • Fuji Concept Alconite Guides
A very strong and durable material, Alconite is the latest in a long line of ceramic rings developed by Fuji. Alconite is so durable it can be made thinner than any other ring, so strong it will hold up to all kinds of fishing demands. Alconite has an 80% greater compression strength and is 20% lighter than aluminum oxide, making it one of the toughest rings used for fishing, as well as one of the lightest.
  • Fuji Hardloy Guides
The Hardloy guide is Fuji’s most popular guide and is produced from a special blend of high grade aluminum oxide. All Hardloy guides are diamond polished for decreased line wear and permanently mounted to the frame. This results in increased performance, corrosion resistance and greater heat dissipation.
  • Fuji Reel Seat
Built to last Fuji reel seats are designed with graphite nylon bodies, exclusive S-4 Stainless Steel hoods, with lined cushioned inserts to offer a lightweight reel seat with superior strength. Uniform design for increased comfort and self aligned hoods provide a solid lockdown on your reel foot that will never back off while fishing.

Great Rod
February 11, 2015
I paired this rod with my Penn Fathom 12. It is an absolutely awesome combo for the fish that I use it for. I use 30 pound braid on it. I use it for Mangrove Snapper, Grunts, Black Seabass, Porgies, Triggerfish, Flounder, and Grouper. It is a great combo. The Trevala has lots of power for the bigger fish and is lots of fun to use.
Pros
  • Light
  • Good Quality
  • Lots of Backbone

Amazing rod for the money. Have the 6'6MH paired with an accurate Boss Fury 500 for dropping heavy jigs down deep. Caught my biggest AJ on this rod and it handled it no problem. Highly recommend this rod if you're just getting into to jigging or if you want a high quality rod for a lower cost.
Pros
  • Lightweight, high build quality, good reel seats

Travala MH
September 21, 2021
I purchased this rod for a trip out on the Constitution for tuna. Unfortunately, the rod I purchased was a little too light to bring on the trip. This rod (even the heavy) is very light in the hand and would be good for anything up to 50lbs. I just would not feel comfortable battling anything in the 80+ range, there's just not enough backbone to pry them bruisers up from the depths.
Pros
  • Light weight, good feel in the hand, EVA grips seem durable.
Cons
  • Not recommended for really big fish; you'd have your hands full if you hooked something in the 100lb class.

4/28/21, yesterday, I purchased 2 tvc70ML to pair with a Penn 25nL and intend to spool 50# braid.  I plan on live bait trolling and bottom fishing east coast.  Trolling may catch 30-40# king and bottom fishing targeting 15- 20# fish

However i do enjoy 150# shark now and then.  Will this setup handle the occasional fight with a shark.  I wanted to stay light, but i am getting worried I should have went to the Med?

1 Answer
This setup is a little underpowered for a 150# shark. An experienced angler may be able to make it work but it could be difficult.

Hi:

I have a fin nor lethal 100 reel and I will like a Rod that I can use for trolling and for jigging. Can you use one rod for both things? What rod options you reccomend.

1 Answer
These rods are actually discontinued, they would make a good middle of the road kind of rod if you are looking to both troll and jig with,

I would look into the Shimano Terez rods for both applications or the new Talavera Boat roads would also do the job

Depending on what technique you're going to be fishing,  the Lamiglas Tri-flex offers a wide range of weights in a really nice package.  Jigging world also offers 3 different models, the Black Demon, Shogun, and Black widow that are incredibly nice and back a serious punch.

However I just moved up north to VA and am getting into this rockfish thing - so my question: would one of the Trevalas (heavy or extra heavy with the gimbal butt) be a solid choice for trolling the large tandem jig rigs behind a 4-6 oz inline trolling weight?

1 Answer
The two piece model (TVC66M2) does not come with a rod tube. It is a 70/30 split and the longest section measures 55 in. This may be a little too long for an airline carry-on. I'd suggest contacting the airline in which you are flying to inquire about the size limits.

I want to pair an Avet 5.8 MC with a new rod for fishing wrecks and chunking for tuna. I was looking at the 5'8" Med H. Is this the best choice?
1 Answer
No. This is not a good chunking rod. We suggest going with a Shimano Tallus (SHM-2433).

Have a Torium 16 reel. Would you recommend the 6'6'' Med or the 7'0" Med/light rod for New Jersey fluke and blues?
1 Answer
The 6'6" Medium would be best for the Torium 16 and the better choice for wreck fishing for bluefish and flounder. The 6'6" has a little more backbone to be able to handle fishing heavier buck tails and deeper water.

what is the diff between the f series and the others does the line cut into the grip
1 Answer
The F series uses higher end components and has a different grip. The line should not cut into the grip when you are fighting a fish.
