Trevala Jigging Spinning Rods Feature Details
  • Shimano® TC4 Construction®
Shimano has engineered the new responsive TC4 Construction material to elevate your fishing experience. The TC4 Construction material wraps a double inner layer of advanced, dynamic T Glass with an inner and outer spiral of high modulus graphite. This breakthrough in design construction results in an extremely durable, crisp, yet lightweight rod.
  • Fuji® Fuji Hardloy Guides
The Hardloy guide is Fuji’s most popular guide and is produced from a special blend of high grade aluminum oxide. All Hardloy guides are diamond polished for decreased line wear and permanently mounted to the frame. This results in increased performance, corrosion resistance and greater heat dissipation.
  • Fuji® Reel Seat
Built to last Fuji® reel seats are designed with graphite nylon bodies, exclusive S-4 Stainless Steel hoods, with lined cushioned inserts to offer a lightweight reel seat with superior strength. Uniform design for increased comfort and self aligned hoods provide a solid lockdown on your reel foot that will never back off while fishing.

Light and powerful
December 9, 2021
Usually pair this with a 2500 Stradic and it's light enough to jig all day without tiring my shoulder. Good sensitivity and plenty of backbone.

Having used it since August, almost once a week. Capable of everything, from porgies to cods, from 25 feet to 220 feet of water, equipped with different size of reels. Not a single issue happened.
Pros
  • Light and powerful.

Great quality for the price!
November 29, 2019
purchased the TVS66MH2 and have used it for close to 5 months on numerous trips. Love that it is a 70/30 2 pc which makes transporting it a bit easier, especially when the rod if being flown and there's usually a max length requirement. It's also quite durable as its fallen onto concrete, hit rocks, dropped on deck plenty of times, etc... and considering it's price, i'd say it's a great buy! Currently have it paired with a daiwa 5000 bg and it works nicely.

Great Rod for pier/bridge fishing for snook.
February 4, 2019
This is hands down the best rod I have ever used for catching snook off of bridges and piers using live baits. Great soft tip action to feel the thump of the hit and the backbone to pull them out from the pilings. I use the spin 7 ft ML with 30lb braid and it can handle most snook. If I am targeting bigger fish, I then use the 6.6 M with 50lb braid. Cant say enough about these rods especially for the price.
Pros
  • soft tip with great backbone
Cons
  • Havent found any.

Stunning Rods
February 5, 2018
I have used the 7ft Medium-light and the 6.6ft Medium heavy for years and they are great. I use them on the kayak for jigging and throwing lures for tuna, mackerel, GT's and much more. Never had one fail. Very light but strong rods.
Pros
  • light and strong
Cons
  • eyes are on the light side. Not an issue on a boat but can get banged up in the hatch of a kayak

TVS60H - Great rod for heavier jigs and big fish
January 2, 2018
I bought the TVS60H for wreck jigging in the Keys. This model is heavier and stouter than the 66MH I also have so it's better for the bigger jigs.

It's still quite sensitive and light, but isn't great for light jigs. It handled blackfin tuna, large cudas, and medium AJ's no problem. I did still get smoked a few times though but not because of the rod!

A dedicated jigging rod is so much nicer than trying to make due with a regular rod. The performance of the Trevalas for the price is unbelievable.

October 14, 2021
Could the TVS66MH2 SHM-1854 be paired with a Saragosa 8000 with 50/60 lbs braid and used to cast and retreive 2.5 to 4 oz sinking lures for tuna, wahoo, mahi mahi and other such pelagics?
If not which other rod could be appropriate to pair with the Saragosa in such situations?
Your advice will help me finalise the items that are sitting in my cart.
1 Answer
Hi Rabin, I would recommend going to the Shimano Grappler Model: GRPJS66M; Tackledirect code: SHM-3886. Shimano GRPJS66M Grappler Type J Jigging Rod - TackleDirectThis rod will be very light, strong, and sensitive enough for throwing small sinking lures for tuna and wahoo. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
