Trevala Jigging Spinning Rods Feature Details
  • Shimano TC4 Construction
Shimano has engineered the new responsive TC4 Construction material to elevate your fishing experience. The TC4 Construction material wraps a double inner layer of advanced, dynamic T Glass with an inner and outer spiral of high modulus graphite. This breakthrough in design construction results in an extremely durable, crisp, yet lightweight rod.
  • Fuji Concept Alconite Guides
A very strong and durable material, Alconite is the latest in a long line of ceramic rings developed by Fuji. Alconite is so durable it can be made thinner than any other ring, so strong it will hold up to all kinds of fishing demands. Alconite has an 80% greater compression strength and is 20% lighter than aluminum oxide, making it one of the toughest rings used for fishing, as well as one of the lightest.
  • Fuji Hardloy Guides
The Hardloy guide is Fuji’s most popular guide and is produced from a special blend of high grade aluminum oxide. All Hardloy guides are diamond polished for decreased line wear and permanently mounted to the frame. This results in increased performance, corrosion resistance and greater heat dissipation.
  • Fuji Reel Seat
Built to last Fuji reel seats are designed with graphite nylon bodies, exclusive S-4 Stainless Steel hoods, with lined cushioned inserts to offer a lightweight reel seat with superior strength. Uniform design for increased comfort and self aligned hoods provide a solid lockdown on your reel foot that will never back off while fishing.

Great quality for the price!
November 29, 2019
purchased the TVS66MH2 and have used it for close to 5 months on numerous trips. Love that it is a 70/30 2 pc which makes transporting it a bit easier, especially when the rod if being flown and there's usually a max length requirement. It's also quite durable as its fallen onto concrete, hit rocks, dropped on deck plenty of times, etc... and considering it's price, i'd say it's a great buy! Currently have it paired with a daiwa 5000 bg and it works nicely.

Great Rod for pier/bridge fishing for snook.
February 4, 2019
This is hands down the best rod I have ever used for catching snook off of bridges and piers using live baits. Great soft tip action to feel the thump of the hit and the backbone to pull them out from the pilings. I use the spin 7 ft ML with 30lb braid and it can handle most snook. If I am targeting bigger fish, I then use the 6.6 M with 50lb braid. Cant say enough about these rods especially for the price.
Pros
  • soft tip with great backbone
Cons
  • Havent found any.

Stunning Rods
February 5, 2018
I have used the 7ft Medium-light and the 6.6ft Medium heavy for years and they are great. I use them on the kayak for jigging and throwing lures for tuna, mackerel, GT's and much more. Never had one fail. Very light but strong rods.
Pros
  • light and strong
Cons
  • eyes are on the light side. Not an issue on a boat but can get banged up in the hatch of a kayak

TVS60H - Great rod for heavier jigs and big fish
January 2, 2018
I bought the TVS60H for wreck jigging in the Keys. This model is heavier and stouter than the 66MH I also have so it's better for the bigger jigs.

It's still quite sensitive and light, but isn't great for light jigs. It handled blackfin tuna, large cudas, and medium AJ's no problem. I did still get smoked a few times though but not because of the rod!

A dedicated jigging rod is so much nicer than trying to make due with a regular rod. The performance of the Trevalas for the price is unbelievable.

For Togging with a jig, the recommendation would be the Shimano Trevala Jigging rod TVS70ML.  This rod will be good for the 1-3oz jigs, but if you have to go up to 5 or 6oz jigs you will be able to handle them as well.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

This will be a good match up as long as you stay with 50-65lb braid. If you plan on using the reels full range 30-65lb then I would recommend getting TVS66M.

Only advantage the Fin-Or reel gives you is increased spool capacity

Hi!

Hope everyone is safe snd well!

I have 2 Daiwa BG SWs- 2500 with 15lb J-Braid, and a 4000 with 30lb J-Braid.

I would like to use them for vertical jigging with smaller, slow-pitch jigs, as well as live bait . Which  re-evaluate rods should I get for those reels? Thanks! Carlos

1 Answer
Unfortunately these rods have been discontinued in favor of the new Trevala PX lineup of rods.

For the 2500 reels i would recommend a 6'3 or 6'6 Light or ML rated rod, and for the 4000 i would recommend a Medium or MH rated

What size saragosa would you pair with the 7' medium?
1 Answer
I would suggest with a 5k or a 6k, depending on the actual weight of the rod.  There is a significant jump in weight when you go from a 6k to an 8k, but with a heavier blank, it might still balance ok.

I want to pair a Trevala jigging spinning rod with a Penn Slammer 3 7500. I plan on using it for vertical speed jigging but plan to use it just as much for throwing surface lures, stick baits and poppers in Baja. Which Trevala would you recommend? I'd be using 30 or 40 lb braid.
1 Answer
The Trevala will be good for speed jigging, but we do not recommend you use this rod for surface lures. This rod would be too short. For Jigging, the 6'6 30-65 would be good or the 7' models will be fine.

I have 2 questions: 1- How is the Shimano Trevala F compared to Shimano Trevala B, which one is better 2- What is the recommended length of the rod for boat fishing, 6'6' or 6'9"
1 Answer
The Trevala F is an upgrade to the original B. The following is from the Shimano website; Shimano has engineered the next generation of TC4 Construction. This new construction uses a high carbon butt section fused together with a TC4 tip section. This new blank design gives you the pulling power of TC4 but with less weight and increased sensitivity. You will also notice a much faster recovery rate, which will increase the jigging action and subdue fish faster. The other difference is the handle wrap. The B is EVA foam and the F is Xwrap. Either length will work well for you, but most guys go for the 6'9".
