Great rod I paired it with a Torium 16hg and it’s a great combo. Only had the chance to fish live bait (no jigs or irons yet) but I did get a few practice casts in and it threw the Salas 7x a mile.

My go to rod for throwing plastics, light line fishing for halibut, white seabass and light weight jigging for ling cod. Good action combined with good backbone. For the price, all that I asked for.

Rod is sensitive for Boondoggin Salmon and strong enough for a Sailfish on the run! Good backbone yet very light and sensitive....Another Great rod from Shimano!!!
Pros
  • One piece assurance for power without breakage at atwo piece rods ferrel
Cons
  • Dont like the buttcap! Hard to use in a rod holder......rather see a conversion gimble butt cap!
