Good all around rod. Works great from the kayak. Helped me pull two 20+ lb Mahi into my kayak no problems. Price is great. Won't break your wallet and can be a good little workhorse.

I like this rod due to light weight. Seems to be well-constructed as well. I also have the same model rod in conventional. Would recommend to anyone looking for a mid-grade all around boat rod.

I took this rod out as soon as I got it. Landed a lot of big stripers. Had plenty of backbone and casts great. I will definitely get another one as soon as they are in stock

I'm undecided on which rod to match up with my Penn Slammer III. This Shimano or the Shakespear Tiger Elite...the reel is spooled with
65 lb Maxcuatro braid and I will be fishing offshore for kingfish, redfish, and Island hopping for other species. I haven't done a lot of offshore.
I would appreciate your input.... Thanks Eddie G ...

Hi Edward, The Shimano TES70MHC Talavera Boat Spinning Rod would pair well with a Penn Slammer IV up to a 6500 size.
