What is the difference between Tallus and Trevala? Trevala is advertised as a jigging rod but on paper many of the models appear exactly the same between Trevala and Tallus. Are there any differences in the blanks and rod components?
Intending to use for grouper and amberjack with a Speedmaster 12ii. Go 6’6†heavy or extra heavy?
The 6'6" and 7' heavy options are definitely solid options and they are rated to handle 80 lb braid. It will be overkill for some of the species you're after but with that reel you'll need a heavy action rod atleast. Â

Will it handle jigs to 240 gram. And yellowfin to 90 lb?
I would also look into Daiwa Harrier X Jigging rods, St Croix Mojo Jig or Mojo Salt rods

I would go with the heavy or the extra heavy depending on preference in bend and line class.Â
Pairing with a daiwa BG6500, was looking at either a MH or H. Need the ability to drop 3oz+ lures for rockfish.
