Perfect little bay reel

I purchased four of these perfect little bay reels for flounder fishing. I pair it up with a short ugly stick and have a great time. It’s perfect for guests kids and myself. If one breaks or fails I throw it away and grab a new one. I would recommend it for any small bay fishing.

Solid reel for a very low price.

Overall a solid reel for the price that you pay. So far I have no complaints, the bail flipped on me while I was casting once but that was only one time. Drag on the reel is more than you'll need for most fish but good to know you have it just in case. Perfect for a small lightweight rod set up.

Using this reel exclusively for Bass on a medium action rod. Works great most of the time. When it doesn't work well, the spool seems to bind making retrieve very difficult. Haven't been able to identify why this occurs but it always resolves itself after some time off. Next time will buy one or two models up in price/quality

Caught a1.5 pound blue runner one of the best fish pound per pound fighting wise. Had some structure which is where they always head to cut line and was able to bring up. Had a 8lb green ande line.

How do I get your real to stop free spinning in reverse

Hi Howard, If you are having trouble getting the reel to stop going into reverse, There is an anti-reverse switch on the reel below the rotor. If there is not one then the reel's anti-reverse clutch may be broken. We recommend calling Shimano's customer service center at 1-877-577-0600. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!

How do you stop reel from unwinding line when trolling or your not holding the reel

Hello Mike,
If your experiencing what you're asking with line being pulled off the reel when trolling a couple of things could be causing that. First try to tighten the drag. Another reason that could be causing line to be pulled off the spool is not having a backing line if your main line is braid. The braid could be spinning on the spool itself. If neither of these things are causing this please give us a call so that we can assist you farther at 1-888-354-7335.
