Shimano Coltsniper Sinking Stickbait Lures feature a sand eel-like slim shape design, and a unique Propulsion Weight Transfer System to provide exceptional casting distance. Casting distance is increased by as much 22% over similar length and weight lures by sliding the internal weight back during the cast, and then springing it forward when the lure hits the water.

Shimano Coltsniper Stickbaits have a wide slide swim action when retrieved, and chemically sharpened treble hooks mid-body and at the tail. This unique combination of features make Shimano Coltsniper Sinking Stickbait Lures ideal for chasing powerful and aggressive game fish.

Casts like a dream but
October 11, 2021
This lure casts like a dream thanks to the sliding internal weight, but the paint sure comes off this think in a hurry. Haven’t even landed a fish on this lure yet just casting over a few trips.
Pros
  • Casting distance
Cons
  • Paint flakes off with moderate use.

This is a great lure with a nice swim on a straight retrieve. It works very well for Calicos and Tuna boils.

Fish these and you'll catch. That simple.

Only thing I dislike about these are the treble hooks- theyre super weak and would expect better out of Shimano. Replace before using.

Proven bait that catches when others dont.

Offshore casting bait

This is a must have when fishing offshore. It is perfect for casting to tunas and mahi. This bait casts extremely far and has a great action. This bait flat out catches fish.

  • Casts a mile
  • Great colors

Casts a country mile, striped bass love it, works well with many fish, buy it
November 12, 2019
Casts like a rocket, swims well, bunker style is very effective for later season bass when bunker or peanut bunker are present. The hooks are a bit on the light side, probably by design to keep the action of the lure. The finish will wear off after a few fish but still works well. Plan on replacing hooks after a few larger fish.
Pros
  • casting, great weight propulsion system, through wired, swimming, presentation when new
Cons
  • hooks are light and can bend/break, finish can fall apart after a few fish

Are these through wired? Could they handle school to mid size bluefin tuna?
1 Answer
Hi Andy, The Shimano Coltsniper Sinking Stickbaits are heavy duty through wired baits. I would recommend the Shimano HD Orca Lures. https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-hd-orca-lures.html These would be great for fishing tuna and other pelagic species. I would upgrade the hooks and split rings to something a little heavier. https://www.tackledirect.com/owner5196084.html https://www.tackledirect.com/ownerst66large-own-0032-2.html Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
