Pretty much getting the rod for free. Reel is butter smooth. Rod we shall see after the first run at the surf. But overall looks good. Reminds me of the okuma series of rod or the bass pro brand off shore surf rods.

Great surfcasting setup for the money

Reel casts a mile and looks and feels more expensive than it is. Rod isn't very sensitive but it's cheap so thats expected, but it's real strong considering the price. Has no problem launching large plugs for striped bass. I noticed nobody else complained of this but the rubber grips on the rod reek like a tire factory. I wash my hands multiple times when I'm done but still reek like pepboys. The smell gets on everything. Hopefully it'll fade in time

- The rod is cheap so that worrys me a little if I hook up to a large blue or striper but it feels strong so hopefully it is. The grips reeking like a rubber factory is the biggest downside of the rod. It's insane how strong the smell is

Here are some terminal tackle sku's that should get you started fishing the Hatteras / Outer Banks: eag-0416-1, eag-0416-2, ssr-0246, sin-0095 and sin-0096. These are some pre-packed circle hooks, frog tongue sinkers, and some sinker slides. However, keep in mind that the rod that you are interested in only has a max casting weight of about 4oz. If you are not satisfied for any reason you may return new and unused items in the original box with all accessories within 30 days for an exchange or refund to the credit card account charged, less any shipping fees incurred by the seller or purchaser. This rod will work perfect for big blues. The reel is recommended for 50 lb test braided line. It will hold 290 yards of 50 lb braid.

Unfortunately, we do not have this combo in stock to measure. The max drag is 20#. It is a surf combo, so it is not really designed for boat use. It is too long.
