Tough enough to be tossed in the truck and boat, but sensitive enough to feel even the softest of bites, the Powered By Favorite Defender Spinning Rods were designed for the everyday American fisherman. The Defender features a patriotic color scheme that you can't miss, but it's more than just a show piece. It is built around an IM24T carbon blank constructed with Favorite's Multi Layer Structure technology. These blanks are produced from a layering process where carbon of different modulus and different fiber directions are strategically layered on top of one another to achieve the desired rod action, increase durability, and lower weight. Favorite has also added their FX Grid technology to the mix where an x-like carbon tape is wrapped throughout the butt and middle sections of the blank for increased rod power. These rods are fitted with Fuji SiC guides and blue camoflauge EVA split grips.

I now have 4 different model Defender rods and love them all. I hate that the new versions have cork handles as I prefer these older style blue handles. Rods are light, sensitive and we love them. The matching Defender reels are pretty nice as well and look amazing on these rods too bad TD is out of stock on them :(

My first rod ever from Favorite, and I love it. The rod is light, sensitive, has good backbone, and is the most beautiful rod I have ever seen or had. I feel proud to fish a a quality American made rod such as this one.
It is my go to rod for bass fishing, and I have used it for some light application saltwater fishing for shaker stripers. One thing that surprised is the strength of the rod, I had no problem boat flipping 3-4lb bass.
