I just bought the shimano saragosa how would it pair up with this rod?
1 Answer
Hi Walt, Depending on what size Shimano Saragosa you purchased, the reel will match up well with this rod. If you have between the 5k-8k the rod and reel will make a great pair. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!

What size Vanford or stradic FL would you recommend for this rod? Been using it for sand bass/Calicos and similar fishing with lures/live in SoCal with a Vanford 2500 (only because that is what I had on hand), i

It is very light and managed just fine with the drag etc. I am just looking for more line and want to know how it balances with larger reels. any opinions or experiences appreciated.

1 Answer
Aaron,

If you are looking for more line capacity, then the Shimano Stradic FL or Vanford 5000 spinning reel would be the reel to pair with that Phenix Inshore 7'7" rod.  Only a little over an ounce heavier then the 2500 and holds about twice the amount of line.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

The order chart indicates 1 pc but the picture shows 2 pcs. So, is the rod 1 or 2 pieces?
1 Answer
It is a 1 piece rod. The rod is shown that way in the picture to give an up-close view of the upper and lower sections.

I have a Daiwa Saltist 3000, will this rod be overkill for the paired reel?
1 Answer
This rod is not overkill but a 4000 would fit nicer.
