Rod and reel are paired up perfectly. Light enough to feel any bite, but heavy enough to still pull in bigger fish. 33" snook pictured

If I am throwing palm size pinfish bait from the beach, should I use the 5500701 or the 6500 surf series? I would like the combo to not be oversized for some inshore swimbait fishing also. What is the best and most versatile combo here??
1 Answer
Depends on what your fishing for but a good all around light setup would be the SSVI4500LL701M

I'll be fishing Stellwagon Banks off New Hampshire in September for Cod and Haddock.  I've fished fresh water

for many, many years but not saltwater.  I'd like to use a spinning outfit and Penn Spinfisher VI looks good.

Will this spinning combo work and what size would you recommend?

1 Answer
Hi Michael, The Penn SSVI5500701MH Spinfisher VI Spinning Combo could be used for deep water bottom fishing for cod. However since its currently sold out I would also recommend a Penn SSVI7500701H Spinfisher VI Spinning Combo. https://www.tackledirect.com/penn-ssvi7500701h-spinfisher-vi-spinning-combo.html This larger reel and stiffer rod would be more ideal for deep water bottom fishing applications. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Looking for the best setup for some wreck fishing. Anywhere from 60-90 ft. water depth and usually drop 6-8oz sinkers or bucktails/jigs. Would the 4500 suffice or should I be considering the 5500 models?
1 Answer
I would recommend using the 5500 size.
