Penn Rampage jigging Rods are tubular graphite composite one-piece rods that are both lightweight and tough. Rampage jigging rods fearure Penn's Torque EVA foregrips for added comfort and control. Line flows smoothly through the Fuji frames with aluminum oxide inserts and a heavy-duty graphite reel seat keeps the reel in its proper place at all times. The soft yet durable rubber gimbal fits firmly into a fighting belt or chair and the rubber will not scratch or crack the gel coat on your boat. Rubber gimbals also help ease the pain that traditional metal gimbals can put on the body while fighting fish.
  • Tubular graphite composite blank
  • Fuji aluminum oxide guides
  • Triangular shaped EVA grips
  • Heavy duty graphite reel seat
  • Durable rubber gimbal

Works great for trolling live baits from kayak
February 17, 2022
I know this is a jigging rod, but I've been using it to troll live baits from my kayak in Hawaii. It's been great! Strong enough to horse in a hammer head to the kayak no problem. Great rod.

Looking to get a rod for bull reds. Normally id throw 5 oz but in a few scenarios id likely have to use 8 oz of weight. Would the 30- 80 lb rod be able to handle this if It were only for a very limited amount of days?
1 Answer
Something like the Tsunami TSAWBCJ-701H Airwave Jigging Casting Rod would fit your needs.

Can you troll with these rods using smaller diving plugs? Or can you live line mackerel with them?
1 Answer
Hi Casey, The Penn Rampage Jigging Rods can be used for light trolling and live lining applications. I would recommend a Penn RAMJG3080C66 Rampage Jigging Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/penn-ramjg3080c66-rampage-jigging-rod-conventional.html This would be ideal for light inshore trolling and live-bait fishing. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Will the RAMJG50100C62 match up with a Everol 50 wide Narrow?
1 Answer
James,

The Everol 50 trolling reel will be a bit much for the Penn Rampage jigging rod RAMJG50100C62.  Something like the Avet MXL or MXJ would be a better fit for that rod.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

I own all three line classes of the Rampage spinning rods.  It looks to me like the only difference in them is that the rods get shorter as they get "heavier".  Is that possibly true?  Do all the blanks start off the same?  I am in the process of buying some 80-200 Carnage spinning rods and, just looking at the published specs, the same pattern appears--the heavier rods are shorter so Was wondering if the same blanks are used there also..
1 Answer
That is correct in most cases. A lot of these do in fact use the same blanks, shortening the rod would give it a stiffer feel and more power

What is the best reel for this RAMJG80130S60, for vertical jigging ?
1 Answer
The Maxel Ocean Master level drag reel for a covential rod and a Shimano Saragosa 8000 or 10000 size for a spinning rod would be great for vertical jigging.

Can you help me put in perspective how much pulling power a jigging rod in the 80-130lb version actually has? I feel like the rating is seriously exaggerated with this rod.
1 Answer
This rod has a load bearing capability of 80-130lbs. Load weights greater than 130lbs will likely cause damage to the rod.
