Nice feel, light and powerfull
May 5, 2021
I read in the penn official page this rod breaks trhougth 4th and 5th guide, but i have used it for large bonito and over 20# jacks and didn't broke. Is light as a feather, and have nice guides. but I had to change the reel seat (poor quality in the foam and reel doesn?t fit very well) because it gets off and spins after a few uses. In general is a good rod.
I paired it with a BG5000.
Pros
  • Light, nice looking and powerful
Cons
  • Poor reel seat material

Great Rod for the Money

4 stars because I haven't used it yet. My first Penn rod and so far I am very happy. Arrived in great shape; packaged in a sturdy shipping tube. Feels good in the hand and pairs well with the Squall low profile 200. Great looking rod made with quality materials. Looking forward to fishing this set up.
Pros
  • Balance and feels good in the hand.
Cons
  • None as of now.

Will a 300 low profile Diawa be a better fit
1 Answer
I think a lower profile Daiwa would pair well with this rod, like a Lexa 300 or the new Tatula 300
