Great rod for moderate to large Tuna/Mahi
February 25, 2015
I had used this rod on a ship I used to work on and have landed Yellowfin up to 125 lbs and Mahi up to 55lbs. It is reasonably priced and has plenty of backbone. after 5 years of not being able to fish, I am able to fish again. I did not think twice about ordering this rod. The casting model is just as proven as the spinning rod. Given its price and proven durability, I would have no doubts recommending this to a friend.
Pros
  • Strenth, Durability, price and quite attractive too.
Cons
  • none

Okuma Cedros Jigging Spinning
November 13, 2014
This is a good, lower-priced option for a jigging, spinning rod. Okuma makes better rods (Andros), but they are less affordable for the fisherman on a budget. The rod is a little heavy in comparison to some others I use regularly, but it should handle anything I throw at it.
Pros
  • Price, looks, strength

On the c-j-s-601mh, approximately up to what pound fish is this rod capable of catching and what fish is this rod used for? Also, would it be suitable to match this with a Cedros 65 high speed reel?
1 Answer
Hard to say exactly how large a fish the rod can handle, but it should be good up to about 80-90#. It is actually a spinning rod though, so the Cedros 65 High Speed will NOT wok on it. The model you want for that reel is the CJ-C-601M or the CJ-C601MH.
