Simply retrieve the rig all the way up until the weight reaches the tip. This design keeps your bait catching set up ready for use at a moment's notice, and most importantly, shields your sabiki rig from the rest of your tackle to prevent nightmare tangles. These rods do not make use of conventional rod guides, but rather have a specially designed tip that allows the rig and its many small hooks to be retracted into the rod without getting hung up, along with an opening just above the handle where the line threads through and out to your reel.
