Total weight spooled up with 10lb of monofilament installed on the silver hook 7' MH is 14.25oz. What an excellent light-weight combo. I won't feel terrible if this reel gets banged around a bit in some luggage or bags either!

The Okuma Avenger AV-4000 would be the closest in size to a VR50, just based on the weight and line capacity of the reels. They are otherwise two very different reels. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
Yes, you can certainly use 65lb or 80lb braid on the 10000 size Okuma Avenger Spinning Reel. 65lb braid is typically equivalent to the diameter of 16lb mono, and 80lb braid similar in diameter to 18lb mono for line capacity purposes. Roughly 325yds of 65lb and 295yds of 80lb braid will fit on the AV-10000 for reference.
