The braid looked great and went on well, everything was looking good until last weekend when I cut out my old alberto knot connection from the main line pandora to my leader (40# seaguar) and attemted to retie my braid to leader using the same alberto knot. I "popped" the knot to cinch it down like I have done hundreds if not thousands of times with various lines and line connections, and the line broke about 2 inches before the knot. I cut about a foot off, retied using the same knot and it broke again, a couple of inches before the knot, on the main line side of the connection. I said what ever I will try a different knot and see if that helps, cut about another foot off of the main and a couple inches off of the leader, and this time used a uni X uni. No issues. I fished like that for the day and when I got home, I cut the uni X uni out and reconnected using an alberto because I didn't like the uni x uni going through my tip. I pulled and popped and tried to break the know but no issue this time. This led me to believe that there was some compromised braid around the knot, but how it got compromised I do not know, as I keep the rod and reel in a rod rack where the line doesn't contact anything, I transport them and am very conscious of how I do so. Overall I am a little skeptical of the quality of the line after this one event. I will continue to fish it with hopes that it was just a fluke, but if it happens again I will have to replace it with something else.
- Looks great
- Possible quality control or durability issues
- Lays nice on the spool
- Expensive
- Strength, smoothness, color
- Thickness, long color increments
I've caught some big fishes using this Braid!
- 1) Very very smooth and beautiful.
- 2) Better than many many cheap braids, this braid is worth the money.
- I haven't experienced any problems with this line honestly,.
