The ever popular MirrOdine family has a NEW brother, the NEW Heavy Dine. This new heavier version of the MirrOdine, casts great, and has a sink rate that is the same as our famous 52M series. MirrOdine Heavy Dine features:
  • wide body profile and realistic baitfish pattern which produces violent strikes;
  • bright, reflective, luminescent inserts;
  • "fish calling" rattles and natural 3-D eyes to enhance their realism;
  • extra strong hooks.
With a twitching retrieve, these baits dart from side-to-side, mimicking a wounded baitfish. Trout, Redfish, Snook, Striped Bass and Tarpon find the MirrOdines to be irresistible.

One of the best lures for catching speckle trout, is a very cast-able lure and it allows the angler to fish those hard to reach places.

Good to imitate wider bodied baits. Simple slow sink is great on less aggressive trout

  • casts well, slow sinking
Cons
  • boring action, but it works!

This is one of our go-to lures down here in the winter time. The heavy-dine model allows an already awesome bait to get deeper in the cold months. When fished very slowly using a sub-surface "walk the dog" motion, we have been rewarded with many nice Specs and Reds. Can't wait to find (or to be made) the XXL version in heavy-dine. Tackle Direct is the most reliable source I have found for this lure and the price is either competitive, or lower than most stores.
Pros
  • Sinks deeper than original model, maybe 4-5'.
Cons
  • Hooks are not great, but I think that is by design. They will eventually rust, but it saves a fish from having a lost lure in its mouth forever. Quality lure, change hooks out once a year and this lure will last a long time.

Best twitch bait
November 15, 2018
I have used all different brad suspending twitch baits. I find the mirrodine is my favorite. i only use the heavy dines since they dont pop out of the water as much as the regular mirrodines. you can also work them lower and faster. Hooks are decent. they do bend out if you put some pressure on fish but for such a great price lure. swapping the hooks out for some trokar or ewg trebles is not a problem.

Catching, not fishing

Mirrolure makes great baits. This one gets me a little deeper on the flat 3-5'. Thing is a catching machine. I do swap out the hooks for a little better option though
Pros
  • Catches fish
  • Durable
  • Lot of colors
Cons
  • Hook quality

Great for freshwater or saltwater. The heavier weight is perfect for deeper water and the action is great.

Best Lure I've Used
October 29, 2014
This lure catches pretty much everything. So far I've hit into Sand Trout, Lady Fish, Tarpon, Reds, Crevalle, Snook, Speckled Trout and even caught a Pompano.
Pros
  • Catches not only a lot of fish, but a wide variety
  • Amazing action
Cons
  • Hooks rust out quickly, lasts me a few weeks of hard fishing before the hooks need replacement
