The Megabass Orochi XX F5-711XXG Launcher Rod is designed with the action and backbone necessary to power bombing casts and complete control. Featuring a carbon/glass composite blank with a fast action, the Megabass Launcher Rod quickly loads for maximum power and control for sweeping hooksets and tough fights with deep monsters. Megabass Orochi XX F5-711XXG Launcher is ideally suited for deep-diving cranks and can even handle larger ultra-deep plugs. The Megabass Launcher also features an offset handle design for optimal mobility, whereby the blank can be separated from the handle assembly for storage and transport.

"My favorite rod for casting Carolina rigs, football heads and big worms deep. Great for when you want a longer rod to get the pressure on one with a lot of line out."
- Luke Clausen, FLW TOUR

Megabass of America 3-Year Rod Warranty
Megabass Orochi XX Bass Rods were designed with the help of Aaron Martens and Luke Clausen, two of the premier professional anglers in the US. The tournament-tested and proven Orochi XX rods were built to the exacting specifications of Megabass' National Pro Staff, and for the tournament-winning tactics of North American anglers everywhere.

Crafted of super low-resin carbon up to the 40-ton grade, the materials of each Orochi blank are custom matched to the rod's intended application. Each blank features a vertical-axis carbon core wrapped with a 2-axis XX-Micro Carbon layer, followed by an additional vertical-axis carbon layer. Each blank is then finished off with a 4-axis carbon wrap that goes from the butt section to the mid-section, for a total of 6-axis. Since carbon material is strongest along its axis, this unique manufacturing process adds significant strength to combat blank twist and improve overall structural integrity, all without adding unnecessary weight.

Each Orochi XX is purpose-built for tournaments. Each rod has a carefully selected range of tangle-free Fuji KWSG, KR-H, and Fuji small caliber Alconite guides for smooth casting and increased sensitivity; Fuji reel seats; Megabass custom ITO Head Locking Reel Seat (PAT.); a rubber/cork composite end cap to protect against fierce hook sets; a Megabass original hook keeper.

Everything You would expect from Megabass
July 18, 2022
Another fantastic Megabass rod. Like most of their mid to high end rods, it has a remarkably soft, parabolic tip, making this rod more versatile than its power rating would suggest. like all MB rods, the Orochi line is simply gorgeous, with immaculate fit and finish. The EMTF is the 4th Orochi in my lineup and I am happy with all four.
Pros
  • Beautiful, functional and as good as advertised.
Cons
  • Relatively expensive. If it is out of your price range, the Levante line has the same models and they perform similarly (although the lower modulus graphite in the Levente line tens to make them a bit slower and softer than their Orochi counterparts)

Cracker of a rod

For the price I don’t think you can beat the Orochi Whipsnake. Cast light lures a mile and is extremely sensitive. Great rod at a good mid level price point. Excellent service as well. Very happy with my purchase

Awesome megabass quality, however…

Awesome megabass quality and amazing rod. However I can’t give it 5 stars, it doesn’t come with a hook keeper! I understand some high end rods don’t have a hook keeper but it’s wild to me… either way great rod.
Cons
  • No hook keeper

Fantastic rod! Rod is a lot more versatile than I thought it would be. The tip allows this rod to do things that other rods with this power rating could not.

Mindblown!
May 19, 2021
This was my first Megabass rod, and it blew my expectations! I fish the 6'11" Whipsnake for general purpose finesse, and it truly excels for Ned rigs, weightless flukes, and tubes; it's built for more than dropshots! I can also feel the fish taking my bait 30+ yard away, even on slack line whether the bait suspends, sinks, or sits on the bottom! It's crisp and light, but has a sturdy enough backbone to subdue large smallmouths in strong currents and big drag-smoking trouts! I got mine paired with a Certate 2500LT and 10 lb. Fireline Ultra 8 w/ 6 lb. Super FC Sniper leader, and it's the perfect finesse combo I envisioned!

Megabass HIT a home run with the new Orochi XX without doubling up the price for all the upgrades!
Pros
  • JDM aesthetics, versatile, light, and crispy & sensitive
Cons
  • The price may not be accessible for everyone, but not bad for a high-end Megabass rod!
