Megabass Magdraft Swimbait lures feature a soft plastic body that is designed for a thumping tail action. These lures are equipped with the patented Mag-Hold system which secures the treble hook alongside the belly via an internal magnet. This hides the unnatural profile of the underbelly treble hook from wary predators. Magdraft also features two side fins designed to prevent unnatural rolling action, and act as miniature weed-guards to protect the treble hook in its magnetized position. This guides the realistic swimming action of Magdraft, and allows for productive retrieves in key grass areas. With a robust wire-through construction firmly joining line eye to hook, the increased hook-up ratio of Magdraft will also translate into a higher landing percentage.

This thing gets bit.
An excellent offering from Megabass. I've thrown the Magdraft quite a bit over the past few years since being introduced to it and it seemingly never fails to produce. Whether it's the 6in, 8in, or 10in model, it's become a serious confidence bait for me in the swimbait category. They are well made, hold up excellent for a soft bait, and make it extremely easy for anyone to impart action at a variety of speeds to get bites. Most of the fish I've caught have been on a steady "chuck and wind", but have also caught fish skipping it into cover on the bank.
If you are curious about throwing swimbaits, but intimidated by the size of the baits or heavy gear typically used, do yourself a favor a grab one of these in the 6in. model. It can be thrown on tackle you most likely already own and is a great introduction to this style of fishing.

Great Musky bait

I used an 8" trout colored lure on a Musky trip. Boated a fish the first 15 minuets in. The lure gets through and above the weeds without fowling. A second big musky left a small tear, but the lure is still going strong. I caught 2 largemouths on it, while fishing for musky.

I have Magdraft swimbaits in 6", 8", and 10" versions. I mostly use the 8" when I fish for bass. The 10" is a good search bait, able to draw big fish away from their hiding spots. The only issue is that the magnet does not always work well, so I usually tuck the hook into the belly slot.

I really like the "Biwako shad" color when targeting big bass in lakes stocked with trout. The factory "trout" color doesn't look very realistic. Most of the planter trout in my local lakes are pale silver, with light purple/pink hues.
