Megabass Giant Dog-X has been a favorite of top water enthusiasts for over 10 years. The Giant Dog-X, with its realistic design and unique side-to-side roll-walking action, breathed new life into the walking-class of top water baits that have long been fished in the U.S.
The Giant Dog-X's incredible attention to detail and profile is coupled with a unique side-to-side, roll-walking action that will draw vicious surface strikes with only a slight twitching of the rod tip. This roll-walking action is what separates the Giant Dog-X from its competitors. This action, created by the Megabass balancer system, allows the walking motion to be complemented by a rolling action that allows for more of the realistic side-profile to be seen by the bass, unlike other lures in this class, which only allow the bottom of the bait to be seen by most fish.
Giant Dog-X top water lure is most effective in water visibilities of 2 to 20ft., and excels when the water temps are between 55 and 85 degrees. Early mornings and cloudy, rainy days will produce the best results with the Giant Dog-X.

Great top water lure. Used it few times, great smooth water movements. One of my favorites. Used on a concept 13 bait caster on a medium heavy 7.0 concept 13 rod. Great combo.

Quality lure from Megabass as usual

This is probably my favorite Megabass topwater. Very easy to walk the dog and of course the detail is unreal, Just like everything Megabass puts out. Highly recommend. It flat out catches fish when even when the topwater bite is slow.

Ice just went out on the pond but it's still winter here so I haven't had a chance to fish this...however I did get a chance to try it out on my pond.
I own several walk the dog surface plugs and have never seen one with quite this action. It not only sways side to side but pops up out of its tail down posture head first and then once on the surface, it darts side to side then on the pause sits back in tail down. All the surface commotion woke up one hungry largemouth so I know at least one fish found it interesting. Early springtime smallies up in Maine have a new plug to look at this year.
