The 10 inch Hogy Double Wide was designed to mimic large bait fish with wide profiles. Weighing close to three ounces, this casting machine out-casts any other soft bait of its type on the market. When fished with your rod tip up, it leaves quite a wake. Tip-down and with sharp twitches, the Double Wide will swim with a natural seductive motion. Rig with Hogy Tandem Quick Rig, large offset worm style Hooks, or Jig Heads.
10 Inch Hogy Double Wide: Wide Profile, Wobble Action, Versatile Rigging
- Function: The Hogy Double Wide was designed based on two voids in the soft bait industry: a soft bait that can be cast on heavy tackle (i.e surf anglers, stand up casting gear and musky rods); a soft bait with a super wide profile coupled with a slinky action. In the first month after its introduction, the 10" Double Wide produced numerous stripers over 40lbs and several bluefin tuna to 100lbs as a pitch bait.
- Action: Three words: wobble, wobble wobble. The 10'' Double Wide may not be quite as slinky as the 10'' Original Hogy, but the wide profile creates lots of attention.

Awesome for big stripers

I love all of the Hogy sluggos but I like this one especially for the bigger stripers because of its larger profile that gets the fish going. The larger size also makes the lure much heavier which helps with casting when it is rigged weightless, the best way to rig it.

for a soft plastic the double wide has decent weight to just the bait and casts well unweighted. matches bigger bait better than the regular baits.

I like these soft baits because they have the profile of a larger bait fish, twitching the rod gives it a real nice darting action that I have had a lot of success with. Since the Hogy is the double wide the extra weight from more rubber helps with casting distance when rigged unweighted. I also have used them on jig heads fishing the Cape Cod Canal and they work great, I use these when the prominent bait fish is on the larger size.
