The DOA CA.L. 5.5'' Jerk Bait with the new diamond shape tail has proved to be the fish catchinest lure to come down the river in a long time. The heaviness of the body allows the lure to be cast a long distance even with a bait caster. It can be rigged with a wide gap worm hook or jig head. When you use a worm hook with a DOA pinch weight attached to the shank of the hook the lure becomes weedless and allows you to cast even further.

I always switch over to soft baits in the winter when I’m fishing for redfish and this at the moment is my go to. I love the action on this bait and also you can get a 12 pack for 5$ instead of the overpriced Zman baits.

That depends on where and what you are fishing for. Most people are using 1/8 to 3/4 oz heads. The long shank hook vs. short shank also depends on species and length of bait, as it can alter the action.
