DOA Bait Buster Lures have become a staple for fishermen who like to throw surface and diving plugs. The Bait Buster perfectly imitates a swimming finger mullet or medium size live bait, and will catch snook, trout, red fish, tarpon, stripers, bluefish, weakfish, flounder, barra mundi, grouper, snapper and many other varieties.
Depending on the model, this lure will tease the fish on the surface or along the bottom. The single upright hook system reduces hang-ups and weed problems. The hollow body allows the lure to collapse in the fish's mouth and insures better hooksets. Anywhere you fish -- from casting in the local bass pond to trolling offshore -- DOA Bait Buster lures will produce for you.

Fishing the Bait Buster
The shallow running Bait Buster can be used in calm surf; just cast it out and start a steady retrieve. When fishing from a boat in and around mangroves, cast the shallow running Bait Buster under the mangroves and retrieve it with a medium slow retrieve; the lure will come up to the surface and act like a scared bait fish. The shallow running Bait Buster can also be used when wading in shallow water. When you see the water start to ripple cast the shallow running Bait Buster in that direction. When it hits the water count to two and start to retrieve.
The Bait Buster trolling model has a shorter shank hook and a much stronger hook. It is also slightly heaver then the shallow running model. The trolling model Bait Buster is an excellent lure for casting at large Tarpon. This lure is also great for trolling in the river at slow speeds. While off the beach looking for dolphin cast the Bait Buster at the weed lines; as soon as the lure hits the water start to retrieve it. Do the same thing when you are fishing for cobia under the rays.

Nice action and nice balance. Its soft plastic so it can get beat up and lose its integrity if gets abused by fish, structure, or whatever.

Good lure but not too durable

Bought 2 and both are cut up real bad, though still usable after a trip using them. Caught some fish with it so worth it but hoped the can hold up better.

Ended up at marathon key last week and there was a DOA bait buster left in the room from the group that stayed there before us.. I tied it on my 6 foot black steel and pitched it into a cut out just outside the motel.. I had the pole almost torn out of my hand as a lit up mangrove snapper thought he would take it with him.. Nice suprise.
