The high gear is excellent for picking up and retrieving a deep jig (with no fish on it) quickly back to the boat when planning a move to another location or to switch or re-bait lures - saves a lot of time - IT IS NOT FOR FIGHTING FISH. The low gear is excellent for cranking big fish off the bottom and fighting fish back to the boat. Switching gears is very easy. The drag is very smooth and performs well, although it's fine adjustment is a rather small knurled nob, not a 'star-drag'. Despite its small size, this is a very powerful reel. I expect it would handle small to medium sized tuna, mahi-mahi, sharks et c.
- Superb workmanship, compact size, powerful, low maintenance, very tough durable reel.
- The drag fine adjustment is a rather small knurled nob - takes a bit of getting used to. Expensive but worth the price.

- compact, powerful, 2nd speed allows for fast retrieves, low maintenance
- drag adjustment knob is a little small (not a big deal once you get used to it)
- stiffens up when the drag is set high

- when add drag to fight heavy fish (in high speed) very hard to reel
- If drag problems fixed this would be a great 2 speed reel at a good price.

- Very smooth drag and is excellent for vertical jigging works especially well with a spinal rod.
- I wish the price was lower since its extremely difficult to obtain the money being that I'm a student and have to focus much of my time studying rather than working.
