What good is a line counter. That you cannot read.
September 26, 2020
I own several Diawa line counters reels. I love them. I own several Saltist reels. I love them. I only own one Saltist 50 Linecounter reel. I hate it. The numbers are very difficult to read. Much smaller then other Diawa line counters. Must be close to read and in bright light. Diawa really screwed up this, other wise great design.
Pros
  • Great reel, great drag, comfortable handle, strong well built
Cons
  • Line counter numbers to small to read. Awkward position for line counter

The body is very well made and is a dream to operate. The line counter is a little funny. Have been meaning to contact daiwa.on mine if you don't reset counter every time it counts wrong
Pros
  • Almost all metal and solid. Cranks like a dream. Drag star has slight locking mechanism
Cons
  • Counter could be better

Does this product have a drop down, 3:1 ratio to reel in larger fish with less effort?
1 Answer
It does not. If you wanted a reel with that feature you would need a reel with a lever drag in a two speed. There are lots of very good options that we have available that do that.
