I am using them with the daiwa saltiest fast reels. Very good for kite fishing. Cought a couple of sailfish no issues. Guides are good quality.

Matched with a Saltiga 40, could this rod handle the #100+ bft currently being caught in socal?

You could use this as a light setup for 100+ pound BFT but it is on the verge of being not strong enough for that type of fishing.
