Great Reel for the Price
March 22, 2021
This reel is an amazing reel for all inshore applications and more. Caught tons of bonitos, calicos, and yellowtails on it. The brakes are easy to adjust and control, the free spool is amazing, and the drags are smooth and strong. Definitely worth the money.

A great Striper and Bass Reel
December 16, 2019
I bought the Lexa HD300HS-P specifically to have a reel that could handle bottom fishing for very active stripers while still being able to cast larger lures long distances. The one thing I really like about the Lexa 300 is the gear system that really handles the load. I had previously used a few models from its major competitors, and the confidence this Lexa gives me when it is under a load is the max!! no gear grinding, just pure smooth power such as you would find in reels that cost much more than this
Pros
  • Great Gear System, Great power handle, smooth casting with easily controllable fee-wheel.
Cons
  • Slightly larger than some of its competitors, if you consider that a con.

Awesome reel

Can't go wrong for the price. Got 2 of these while they were on sale. High speed and hyper speed. They are both awesome. Bought them for bottom fishing. I think I actually like them better than my Avets for all day fishability. Super light!

Light and solid
September 13, 2019
I’ve used this reel a few times throwing 1-4oz jigs for rockfish and lings in 80-150’ of water. It’s spooled with 50# braid and a 50# FC top 10’
Lings up to 20# no problem.

I have another with 50 braid and 30# FC top for plugging and spooning stripers. Casts swimbaits 3/4oz fine. 15# bass no issues whatsoever.

Pros
  • Smooth drag
  • Handle comfortable
  • Quiet and smooth retrieve.
  • Can pack line to over max and no issues.
Cons
  • None yet.

Work horse
August 5, 2019
Love this reel. It's a work horse. Took a while to get as Tackledirect had just switched over to some new software. Paired with a okuma guide select 30# rod. Works great for my calico bass setup.

Nice Reel!
June 23, 2019
Nice reel, strong drag. Haven't got to fully test the drag but the casting adjustments are nice! Perfect for the inshore fishing I'll use it on primarily
Pros
  • Casting adjustments
  • Strong drag
  • Holds pretty close to the specs on line when spooling yourself.
Cons
  • A little noisy, better with line.
  • Couldn't find anyone to spool it cuz of the left hand retrieve

is there a clamp to hold onto pole?
1 Answer
There is no clamp for the Lexa.  The reel foot is long enough that it should sit perfectly in the reel seat without an issue.

I am interested in the Lexa 300 series HD WITH 7:1 ratio with standard handle - not the power handle. I've heard it is available. Please respond. My phone is 262-880-9105. My address is Dave Sokolowski, 1519 Tiffany Drive, Racine, WI 53402

These are only sold with the power handle. You can call Daiwa and order direct from their parts department a standard handle. We are not a parts dealer. Daiwa Parts Dept: (562) 375-6800
