Best Surf spinning rod!
November 4, 2018
This rod is light and whippy, great for throwing plugs even at the lightest end of it's range. I had read some reviews that the rod was breaking on heavier plugs, so fishing a jetty during the mullet run here in Florida I was tentative at first to use it for live bait. As it was the only rod I had with me I got more and more confident, using it to heave even 15" mullet into the current. This rod is strong! Great purchase.

My first 10ft surf rod
February 7, 2018
I fell in love with this rod on my first visit to tackle direct but ordered it online a little while after my visit. Great quality and finish at an affordable price. I havent got a chance to use it yet but I know it will work perfect. Sp minnows are like my faves so I figured why not give the rod a shot. I am very happy with my purchase!!!

Great Value
November 20, 2016
Good quality rod. Packs plenty of fighting power. Caught a 39" red on its first time on the surf. Had no trouble handing it.
Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Sensitivity
  • Value
Cons
  • Only cons are the butt cap coming loose and the casting weight range being over-rated, I could not imagine casting more than 8 ounces with it, which is fine for the use I make of it.

It did not matter to me, but maybe it should be made clearer in the specs that the tip section is longer. Great service as ever from staff to help me make the right choice for me.

Would this be a great bait rod on a jetty? What size of reel would you recommend for this rod?
1 Answer
Something like the 8000 saragosa or the 5500 shimano ultegra ci4+ would pair well with that rod.

Which would be a better shark rod for my Saltiga 7000h. This rod or the 12' Tsunami Airwave Elite ?
1 Answer
The Tsunami airwave elite surf rod in the 12 foot will be much more of a stout rod that can handle more weight. Here is the link https://www.tackledirect.com/tsunami-tsawess-1202xxh-airwave-elite-surf-spinning-rod.html

How long is the rod when broken down? If 70//30 I would guess around 101" for the longer piece? Is the bottom portion the longer of the two?
1 Answer
I believe these rods are a 60/40or 70/30 split. the tip piece would be approximately 92",

the butt section being the shorter piece of the two piece rod
