- Heavy-framed, cut-proof ceramic guides
- Non-slip EVA grip
- Rubber butt cap
To began with the rod is a little heavy but that's ok. It aids with achievement of a good surf heave rather than a snap cast.
I am basically a multffiplier fishermen.
I only have the spinning rods for people who come fishing with me as they don't have to learn to cast a multffiplier.
The 12 ft rods have Shimano Torium 30s on them and the 10 ft have ABU 7000 reels.
They cast like a dream I routinely get 170 to 200 yard casts out of the 12 ft rods and 140 to 175 yards from the 10 ft rods.
Both have taken multiple 40 inch plus Redfish and Black Drum with ease. The 12 ft has also handled a 7 ft Bull Shark and a 5 ft diameter Stingray.
I have fished them hard for about 3 years and the only wear and year is the guides have a little green discoloration from the saltwater.
Yea! If you're a championship tournament caster you might be willing to spend $400+ for a surf rod but for fishing and whooping the bug ones this rod can't be beat for the price.

- Plenty of strength for casting heavy weights plus bait catching those big 30, 40, and 50 pound red drums, stripers, or catfish. Long handle for really putting the pressure on those big fish. The distance from reel seat to the first eye is 32", which is the optimum distance for my Penn 350M LeveLine reels.
- The eyes, while sufficiently stong, could be stronger. Heavier rod than most of your graphite rods.
