Easy to get out after keeping you snug to the wreck.. highly recommend adding a zip tie to your order and rigging it to the back of the anchor.

Needed an anchor asap for shad fishing on the Delaware River. Lost two due to high flows. TD replaced it in unbelievably quick time and didn’t even charge shipping. Thanks for your service and blue chip inventory of products!

Quote of the trip since we started using it - "this anchor is the ****ing truth"
Pros
  • Zero trouble hooking up even on a mussel bed
  • No issues popping off even in heavy structure
  • Noticeably cheaper than a Minn Kota
Cons
  • Your captain will take forever to adjust to the quicker snags
  • If you don't pay attention to bending back the tines before storage then you're in for a treat trying to get it out next trip

Wonderful

Used it a few times this year for tautog fishing. Hook your anchor line so you can reverse it if it gets hung and don't use a chain! I pull up on it and it has come right out every time. Impressed to say the least. Jack

Amazing reef anchor
June 10, 2020
I bought this anchor for nearshore/offshore wrecks and reefs outside of Charleston on my 23’ center console. I ended up using this as my all around anchor as I catch bottom in pretty much anything although it does drag a little in the sand. Charleston has large tides sometimes around 8pm swings so it’s able to hold very strong and come up without much of an issue.

simply the best one you can buy. First time using it just dropped it over and dragged it till it hooked up, then we hooked up. held great in a pretty good swell and came up easy. hope all future deployments go as well. definitely get one!
Pros
  • Its better in every way over most homemade types I imagine. No rust stains

Works great, even with anchor ball
May 11, 2018
I attached chain to top and zip tied bottom. Kept 30’ center console in place, even on windy days. Worked fine on hard bottom, which was my concern before purchase.
Pros
  • Top and bottom attachment loops.
  • Works with anchor ball.

Why is it suggested not to use a chain with the anchor?  I fear that my line will be compromised by the structure I'm anchoring to.
1 Answer
Hello,

You can actually use chain on the wreck anchor. If you are using chain you'll want to use something like a garden hose on the last 5-8 foot of the chain towards the anchor end because that will be the most likely part of the chain to get hung up

Is it recommended to use a chain for this anchor? Will using a chain make it more prone to hanging up?
1 Answer
It is not recommended to use a chain, most people tie direct to the anchor.

I have a 27' center console. Is this anchor strong enough for my boat? What size line does it use ?
1 Answer
Hello Murray. This particular anchor is only suggested for boats up to 26 feet. For your boat, you would need the 18 pound anchor seen here: http://www.tackledirect.com/anchorman-18lb-wreck-anchor.html
