The extra V shaped end is a great concept for extra leverage for getting the hook out easier. Used last weekend on some Speckled Trout. Quality made product, but the shaft did bend a little on the bigger fish.

I have yet to use the dehooker but I am initially very satisfied. I showed a friend and he was also impressed. It doesn't look to be heavy duty but the rod is very stiff and I expect it will work well. There are much heavier duty ones for larger fish but this one looks to me that it will work small to medium sizes. I anticipate that after using it a few times I will give it 5 stars.

You place the "J" part of the hook remover as close to the bend of the hook as possible. Twist lightly and pull. The other method is to press down on the hook using the forked part of the hook remover to dislodge the hook.
