The New Accurate Boss Valiant 300L.5 was specifically made for anglers that wanted a slightly slower retrieve in this little power house reel. The massive gears of the original Valiant 300 were already the most powerful in a reel of its size in 6:1. Now the Valiant just got stronger with a 5:1 gear ratio that is cranking in 32 inches per handle turn. Anglers who are slow pitch jigging or retrieving heavy lead from the deep ocean floor may find the BV-300.5 even better suited for their application. Covering the coastal inshore waters to the deepest depths of our offshore waters, there is nothing the new Boss Valiant 300.5 cannot handle. We at Accurate designed the bv-300.5 reel for you the angler to be able to use one reel to catch everything from a black sea bass to a yellowfin tuna. Whichever gear ratio fits your personal likes and needs the new Accurate Boss Valiant 300 will not disappoint.

Accurate BV-300L.5 Boss Valiant Baitcasting Reel Features:

  • 6061 T6 Aircraft Aluminum
  • Anodized for increased corrosion resistance
  • Smooth, Easy Find Cam Stop Strike
  • Sleeved spool for greater Free spool
  • 2 ARB bearings with seal washers for improved corrosion resistance
  • Lever Drag Recessed Ergonomic Thumb Plate
  • Precision-Cut Stainless Steel Gears

Amazing Reel!
August 5, 2022
I can't say good enough things about this reel. Not only is it beautiful and sleek, it performs better than most of my fishing arsenal. I have this paired with a goofish slow pitch jigging rod and and 30lb braid and you'd be surprised on how big of a fish this thing can handle. I have zero issues when it came to reeling in 30-60lb groupers/AJs and many others. I HIGHLY recommend this reel and I'd be glad to buy another.
Pros
  • Cool color options, super smooth, great drag, high build quality
Cons
  • None

Best Reel In Class
June 29, 2022
You get what you pay for, and this reel is not cheap. But it is light, durable, has all the drag one could want, and is backed by great service. 2 years of service included with purchase. While the 38" retrieve per turn on the 6:1 is higher than other in class reels like an Avet, the power handle on this reel combined with the smooth gearing provides the feel of something with a lower ratio. If you want more torque, go with the 5:1 model. Drag lever has indents for positioning, but are not obnoxiously loud. You can truly do it all with this reel from inshore fluke and tog to offshore tuna fishing.
Pros
  • - Lightweight
  • - 2 years free service
  • - Drag to fight anything in the mid-Atlantic
  • - Super smooth
  • - Lots of torque makes gaining line an easier task
Cons
  • - Cost

Little powerhouse

I bought a purple Accurate Boss valiant 300 from Tackle Direct. The shiny purple color is beautiful and makes the reel stand out. Lots of compliments from people. In terms of performance... this 9 ounce reel is a beast. There is no inshore fish that this reel cannot reel in. This is my all-round boat reel. I fish for porgies, sea bass, fluke, tog, blues, and stripers. Even with the higher 6.1:1 retrieve still has lots of torque. The quick retrieve helps to get those tog off the bottom quickly.
Pros
  • lightweight
  • 6.1:1 retrieve
  • lots of torque
  • good drag
Cons
  • this thing does not hold 325 yds of 30lb braid.

Great smooth reel

Powerful reel for its small compact size. I use this one for slow pitch jigging. Gave it 4 stars because occasionally ill have to grab an alan wrench and tighten the knob on the handle after catching a few fish. no big deal though

I've always wanted to have one of these reels and finally took the plung and glad I did. From the moment you hold this reel you'll notice that there's no plastic at all. It's a very sturdy compact reel. I love that it pretty much fits in my hand. These are the go-to reels for salt.
Pros

  • Construction
  • Smooth
  • Nice drag
Cons
  • Price is high but aligns with similar reels

Little Beast
April 6, 2021
Very powerful. Compact and light. Love the drag cam, especially without a strike button. Clicker versions are loud and strong. Well built little reel.
Pros
  • Powerful. Light. Holds a tremendous amount of line for a reel its size. Plenty of strong drag. Smoother than the Tern.
Cons
  • Requires more maintenance than a Shimano. QC varies from reel to reel. Otherwise this gets a 5. Some have tighter tolerances than others. Profile is too small for the average rod.

Defective New
December 3, 2020
Received the reel quickly from Direct Tackle. The drag adjustment and lever was locked up and unable to adjust. Contacted Tackle Direct and they were great and took reel back with no issues. I decided not to purchase another one because of this issue right out of the box. I was worried about the build quality. I decided to purchase a Seigler SGN instead. I have fished the Seigler a few times now and know I made the right choice. The reel is outstanding drag is smooth and seems to be built to last. The lifetime warranty is also another reason I choose to Seigler.
Cons
  • Defective right out of box no quality control.

Tiny but Powerful...and PURPLE!
June 7, 2020
The Accurate Valiants in BV-300 and BV-500N are my preferred Slow Pitch Jigging reels...smooth, fast, light, and shockingly powerful for size. Highly recommended. And as a custom rod builder I'm always keen to get a custom color like this purple. Thanks TackleDirect!
Pros
  • - Fast gear ratio preferred for jigging
  • - Excellent line capacity and drag performance for size
  • - Extremely lightweight
  • - Extremely smooth and linear drag curve at all settings (unlike most compact lever drags)
  • - Fully machined, made in the USA goodness
Cons
  • - Will make all your other reels feels large and clunky
  • - Addictive; unlikely you will buy just one
