The Accurate Boss Valiant Reels are baitcasting reels that come in both single speed and 2-speed models. They are designed for inshore and light action offshore applications. These reels are made with innovative design that minimizes size and weight while maximizing strength, longevity and fish fighting power. These reels were built with shallow water jigging in mind, but they can also be used for live-bait coastal fishing, snapper fishing around reefs, jigging for silver salmon, or targeting school-sized tuna, yellowtail and dorado. The unique curvature of the BV-300’s rugged body gives this compact, extremely lightweight reel the structural integrity of models twice its size. Basing the BV-300’s design on the original premise of the Roman Arches or Domes used in early architecture, Accurate has been able to create a significantly stronger reel using less material. While the BV-300’s walls are thinner, its non-flexing frame and side plate enable it to withstand more stress than similarly sized reels. Accurate has also managed to fit the drive train of a bigger reel perfectly into the BV-300’s small profile. These Boss Valiant Reels also incorporate a new Accurate feature – an easy-find “Cam Stop” at strike. Instead of having buttons at free spool and strike, these reels have a secure indent in the Drag Cam that stops the drag lever before going into full. This useful feature offers a fail-safe during the heat of battle, preventing the angler from going too far into full drag.

Features:
  • 6061 T6 Aircraft Aluminum
  • Anodized for increased corrosion resistance
  • Smooth, Easy Find Cam Stop Strike
  • Sleeved spool for greater Free spool
  • 2 ARB bearings with seal washers for improved corrosion resistance
  • Lever Drag Recessed Ergonomic Thumb Plate
  • Precision-Cut Stainless Steel Gears

Amazing Reel!
August 5, 2022
I can't say good enough things about this reel. Not only is it beautiful and sleek, it performs better than most of my fishing arsenal. I have this paired with a goofish slow pitch jigging rod and and 30lb braid and you'd be surprised on how big of a fish this thing can handle. I have zero issues when it came to reeling in 30-60lb groupers/AJs and many others. I HIGHLY recommend this reel and I'd be glad to buy another.
Pros
  • Cool color options, super smooth, great drag, high build quality
Cons
  • None

Best Reel In Class
June 29, 2022
You get what you pay for, and this reel is not cheap. But it is light, durable, has all the drag one could want, and is backed by great service. 2 years of service included with purchase. While the 38" retrieve per turn on the 6:1 is higher than other in class reels like an Avet, the power handle on this reel combined with the smooth gearing provides the feel of something with a lower ratio. If you want more torque, go with the 5:1 model. Drag lever has indents for positioning, but are not obnoxiously loud. You can truly do it all with this reel from inshore fluke and tog to offshore tuna fishing.
Pros
  • - Lightweight
  • - 2 years free service
  • - Drag to fight anything in the mid-Atlantic
  • - Super smooth
  • - Lots of torque makes gaining line an easier task
Cons
  • - Cost

Little powerhouse

I bought a purple Accurate Boss valiant 300 from Tackle Direct. The shiny purple color is beautiful and makes the reel stand out. Lots of compliments from people. In terms of performance... this 9 ounce reel is a beast. There is no inshore fish that this reel cannot reel in. This is my all-round boat reel. I fish for porgies, sea bass, fluke, tog, blues, and stripers. Even with the higher 6.1:1 retrieve still has lots of torque. The quick retrieve helps to get those tog off the bottom quickly.
Pros
  • lightweight
  • 6.1:1 retrieve
  • lots of torque
  • good drag
Cons
  • this thing does not hold 325 yds of 30lb braid.

Powerful reel for its small compact size. I use this one for slow pitch jigging. Gave it 4 stars because occasionally ill have to grab an alan wrench and tighten the knob on the handle after catching a few fish. no big deal though

Very well built, smooth, small and no plastic !!!!
April 20, 2021
I've always wanted to have one of these reels and finally took the plung and glad I did. From the moment you hold this reel you'll notice that there's no plastic at all. It's a very sturdy compact reel. I love that it pretty much fits in my hand. These are the go-to reels for salt.
Pros
  • Size
  • Construction
  • Smooth
  • Nice drag
Cons
  • Price is high but aligns with similar reels

Little Beast
April 6, 2021
Very powerful. Compact and light. Love the drag cam, especially without a strike button. Clicker versions are loud and strong. Well built little reel.
Pros
  • Powerful. Light. Holds a tremendous amount of line for a reel its size. Plenty of strong drag. Smoother than the Tern.
Cons
  • Requires more maintenance than a Shimano. QC varies from reel to reel. Otherwise this gets a 5. Some have tighter tolerances than others. Profile is too small for the average rod.

Defective New
December 3, 2020
Received the reel quickly from Direct Tackle. The drag adjustment and lever was locked up and unable to adjust. Contacted Tackle Direct and they were great and took reel back with no issues. I decided not to purchase another one because of this issue right out of the box. I was worried about the build quality. I decided to purchase a Seigler SGN instead. I have fished the Seigler a few times now and know I made the right choice. The reel is outstanding drag is smooth and seems to be built to last. The lifetime warranty is also another reason I choose to Seigler.
Cons
  • Defective right out of box no quality control.

Tiny but Powerful...and PURPLE!
June 7, 2020
The Accurate Valiants in BV-300 and BV-500N are my preferred Slow Pitch Jigging reels...smooth, fast, light, and shockingly powerful for size. Highly recommended. And as a custom rod builder I'm always keen to get a custom color like this purple. Thanks TackleDirect!
Pros
  • - Fast gear ratio preferred for jigging
  • - Excellent line capacity and drag performance for size
  • - Extremely lightweight
  • - Extremely smooth and linear drag curve at all settings (unlike most compact lever drags)
  • - Fully machined, made in the USA goodness
Cons
  • - Will make all your other reels feels large and clunky
  • - Addictive; unlikely you will buy just one

I have an Accurate BV300 that I plan to use for inshore trolling for striped bass. I had planned to put it on a Terez TZC70M but no one has any. How does the Valiant BV70m and the Black Hole

Challenger 731M or 761MH compare to the Terez?

thank you

1 Answer
Hi Tom, The Accurate BV-70M Valiant Boat Rod has a moderate fast action which will give it more bend than the the Terez TZC70M. The Blackhole Challenger models: 731M, and 761MH both have Fast Actions but due to the lower line rating of 20-25lb and 20-40lb, These models are not the same class as the Terez. I would recommend a Shimano TLXC70MH Tallus PX Conventional Rod. This rod has both a Fast Action and a line rating of 30-65lb Braided Line which is the same compared to the Terez TZC70M model. This also features a Aluminum Gimbal and Hi-Power X technology in the rod blank making this a great subsitute for the Terez model. https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tlxc70mh-tallus-px-conventional-rod.html Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Hello,

Do you think I can pair this conventional reel onto the new Legend Xteme Casting XFC74HF??

And what lure rating should I put on this reel for Blackfish?  Please get back to me as soon as you can!! Thanks.

1 Answer
This reel would pair very well with your St. Croix Legend, If you are fishing from a boat i would recommend no more than 20# braid as this will allow you to fish lighter jigs.

Use heavier leader instead of mainline to avoid getting chaffed off on a wreck or rocks you will be fishing for these fish

Hello, looking to modernize my equipment. I fish a Newell P322-F w/ 40lb for surface iron and a P220-F w/ 20lb for fishing live bait here in San Diego. Could you tell me which reels would match closest to my classics? I’m looking at either Accurate or Avet. I do not need “cast control”.

Thanks for your time...

1 Answer
The Avet SX is a great option for live bait and many other types of fishing that fit this class.
