Introducing ZeeBaaS ZX2 Series Full Bail spinning reels from the original creator of the Van Staal reels. Years of experience have come together to offer a new mile stone in the evolution of the spinning reel. Combinations of new innovative and time tested features have been incorporated into this new reel in order to withstand the harsh saltwater environment for a lifetime of hard use, with unmatched features and attributes.

The all-new design of the ZX2 is defined by its true right -or left-hand use, strength, power to weight ratio (40 lb. drag / 20 oz weight), and an extremely powerful, smooth drag system. As always, the ZX can sustain full and constant submersion in salt water without affecting its performance or ceramic finish. The result is an uncompromising spinning reel that sets a new benchmark for fishing reel sophistication and shapes consumer expectations for how a spinning reel can be used.

Delivering unmistakable style and meticulous craftsmanship, the ZX2 Series is a result of the combination of the ZeeBaaS tradition of engineering innovation and a keen desire to blend design with simplicity.

Great reel
April 9, 2019
Purchased this reel from TD 2 years ago. Customer service was exceptional. Zeebaas ended up sending me the wrong color combination, which tackle direct corrected. They were even able to upgrade me to a power knob with no extra fee.

Since my purchase, the reel has been perfect, without any mechanical issues. I highly recommend purchasing one.
Pros
  • Made in USA
  • Quality material
Cons
  • Price

Oh so worth it.
December 14, 2016
After going thru 4 Penn reels during my 2015 season. Averaging out the cost of 4 Penn's to 1 zeebaas was a no trainer.

Quality is way over top.
Much more than Penn.

Durability is 1000 times superior to Penn.

Dependability... Over Penn's it's still working after 1 season.
My Penn's are nothing but paper weights

These reels are far superior to Penn, diawa, Shimano.

Should of gotten this reel years ago.

Oh so worth the money..

Pros
  • Sealed unit
  • Drag And body.
  • Built line a M1-A1 abrahms tank.
  • Ultra smooth,
  • Sleek
  • The black is sexy too.
  • The rough polished aluminum in a nice piece of "BLING!"
Cons
  • Plugging for hours upon end.
  • It is heavy.
  • But it's tuff!!!!!

Very nice reel

This reel is an absolute beast. The bailed model is great for boat and pier fishing and it has landed some really nice fish for me. If you are a hardcore fisherman who wants the best, get this reel.

Best reel on the market for the surfcaster
September 21, 2014
I am an experienced surf caster swimmer, and also boater. I bought the ZX25 for its ability to be able to switch between bailed and bail-less depending upon my fishing. You can pick up the bail-less rotor and install with the removal of three easy screws. The reel is the best I have owned and I have not had any issues. It works the same if you are swimming in the rocks at Montauk, on the Jetties at Island Beach State Park, NJ or 75 miles off shore scouting the Tuna.

For the surfcasting, I did own a competitors reel (VS) and had nothing but issues - several times back to Omaha, speaking to a call center that did not care, only to have the reel repaired and then break again. The VS is built by the same company that makes grills for your deck - all Asia sourced. Finally sold the reel after a difficult conversation with a VS product manager.

Back to ZB - also of great benefit is the fact that you can call them and speak directly to the people in charge in Connecticut, all of the parts are sourced in the US, and the customer service is awesome. I now own two ZB reels and keep one bailed all the time and one bail-less. Spend the extra money and get the best on the market and support the US machine shops.
Pros
  • Modern design
  • Built for the roughest conditions and will not fail
  • Customer Service
  • Sourced in the USA - keeps the small "artisan machine shop" in business
Cons
  • None

reel that is average

this reel looks cool but compering to its specifications, its not any better then any other brand on the market (shimano, penn, avet or fin-nor ). Overall its in its class but price compering to material its to high. Cheap china manufacture with american brand ,shame on the people that sign them off. CNC machining in this days it is a cheap range .
Pros
  • style
Cons
  • cheap finishes,marks after reeling,and poor materials
