This is a solid little reel that handles its job quite adequately in most instances. The 10 lb. test original line seems a bit light for larger fish and even medium weed snags, but all that is baked into the choice. The surprise came when I first used the reel in rainy weather. I was not prepared for the slippage of my thumb from the rubber-coated-floating-line-release-button on this spin-caster. The release remains hard to control when the reel thumb release is wet, and this led me to choose four stars instead of five. I like the reel fine for light work…in dry weather.

This is a solid performer. I've been fishing with this reel daily for a little over a month now and have had no issues at all. I have this mounted on a 5' 6" medium action ugly stick and have had nothing but fun. I've caught yellow perch, bass and even trout. handled them all with ease. This reel works flawlessly.

Great design and durable. Zebco is a reliable brand.

Good casting reel. Very good retrieve rate. Drag is average which you will find if you catch a big one.

This is the brand my kids first learned to fish on over 30 years ago. Still have the reel and pole in my collection and surprisingly it still works
