The Yo-Zuri Bull Pop Lures are versatile popper lures that cover a variety of inshore and offshore fishing applications. These lures are ideal for surf casting for striped bass, Jack Crevall, or Roosterfish. The Bull Pop lures are also great for casting or breaking schools of Tuna or Dorado from the boat. The large cupped mouth creates extreme surface commotion that draws fish in from long distances.

Best Saltwater Poppers . . . change out the hooks to 4x
July 4, 2021
These are my go to poppers for long range off of Baja California. I've landed more YFT and BFT than I can count on these.
Pros
  • Great colors. Tons of strikes and hook ups
Cons
  • Treble hooks aren't strong enough, I've bent many and had to bend back with needle nose. Recommend 3/0 with 4x strong on the big poppers and 2/0 with 4x strong for one size down. Also switch out the split rings while you're at it.
  • Use Owners.

This is a solid inexpensive popper that can take the abuse from larger pelagic species.

Solid Popper
March 25, 2020
I have this lure in two sizes, the 6" and the 8" version. I love these lures offshore for pelagics. This is my number one popper for tossing to tunas offshore, especially the 8" version for the bigger tunas.
Pros
  • Great action, moves a lot of water
  • Comes in great sizes
Cons
  • Trebles could be replaced with inline hooks.

Best Popper on the Market
February 17, 2020
Straight of the box the Bull Pop out performs all other poppers. For the price you truly can't beat it. I switch out the hardware for owner split rings and owner trebles. This isn't necessary for tuna under 100 pounds but I still take the next step.
Pros
  • price
  • built well
  • thru line

good topwater popper
February 7, 2020
We've used several of these as a teaser top water lure when trolling. I changed out the hooks to in line hooks because we release most of the fish we catch and for safety reasons on the boat. The only issue I have with these is that we get birds that follow these and dive on them! Otherwise they make a lit of noise, pop and splash.

Would this catch salmon?
1 Answer
Lloyd,

Salmon will hit topwater lures, however these lures are quite large for salmon. Hookup ratio would not be great. If you want to target salmon, I would start with sub 1 oz poppers with lighter wire hooks. Options include Yo-Zuri inshore poppers, Rebel Pop-R, and Megbass Pop Max.

What are the best colors for mahi and tuna (atlantic, hatteras)?
1 Answer
Color wont matter so much since it is a popper and the main thing the fish are seeing is the belly in the water. You are going to want to match a size and color to the local bait fish in the area.

I am getting the 6in popper. Does it come with one or two poppers. And would this popper work for fishing from the beach
1 Answer
6" is 1 popper for the $19.99 each currently. This would be a great option from the beach, especially when the mullet are running.

I will be fishing for yellowfin tuna at night around texas oil rigs in gulf of mexico. Should I purchase the 6 inch or 8 inch size.
1 Answer
Either size would work. If you were only going to get one size I'd suggest the 8 inch.
