The Winthrop Tackle Terminator Adjusta-Butt incorporates two butt handles in one. With just the push of a button, you have the flexibility to position your rod from straight to bent. Built from solid aircraft-grade aluminum with a hardened stainless steel positioning mechanism, this butt is precision-built for strength and lightness. The newly designed reel seat has an adjustable machined hood with small and large mouths and is created to accept reels from #30-130 Class. The Delrin Collet Nut is made to stay tight to the hood at all times. The Winthrop Tackle Terminator Adjusta-Butt is a useful tool for any location on the boat.

Haven’t had a chance to use it on the boat yet but this seems very sturdy and well made. The pin locks it into place and seems very strong. Fits my Avet 50W perfectly.

Excellent for trolling alternatives and for storing options when space and setup demands immediate adjustments.
Pros
  • Sturdy and reliable comes to mind. I am very happy with all the other 4 I already own. They are convenient for storing and for keeping them rods available ready for actions.
Cons
  • No cons, a little expensive but worth the convenience to adjust on the fly when fishing.

I have been using Winthrop rod butts for two years now. They are the most durable, lightweight, and functional butts on the market today.

Stay away from Black Coating

The butts are phenomal. Lightweight and the adjustability is great to have. I have had mine on 2 short rides and the black coating is already getting destroyed despite being in coated rod holders. I even have a large gouge in the aluminum already that is sharp enough to notice. Not very happy with the durability of this coating and would strongly recommend NOT TO GET BLACK! Now I get to look at my brand new all black calstar custom rods with butts that look horrendous.

My aftco butts in black NEVER had these issues over all the years.

Adjusts-butt allows you to adjust for the fight and keep your rod loaded whether horizontal or vertical. I have changed out all my bent buts to Winthrop.

#2 and #4 is the size of the threaded shaft, what are the exact dimentions of each number, would be helpful if it was somewhere in the description

Here's the info on the Terminator Adjusta Butts that we received from Winthrop:

The thread sizes are industry standard for the #4 and #2 they will adapt to the Aftco and Stuart ferrule and nuts.
Some overseas ferrule and nuts have issues, it is a very low percentage that have problems fitting. 
Thread sizes are #4 = 1.34 OD x 18 TPI , #2 = 1.16 OD x 18 TPI
