Bought this for my solo skiff, added a cam strap around it and it works like a single axle cargo trailer. it wheels really well over sand considering my skiff is 150lbs.

Best kayak accessory ever!
November 4, 2015
Absolutely the best kayak accessory ever created. My boat is heavy (110 LBS) and it rolls almost effortlessly with this cart. I haven't tried it on the beach yet but it has worked great on all other terrains.
Pros
  • Light
  • Stores inside my hull
  • Easy to roll
Cons
  • Takes a few minutes to deploy
  • Optional rails required for boats with keels

Pre-trial review

Haven't tested it in a field yet, but don't expect serious problems. This isn't my first canoe cart.
Apparent cons - again, without testing:
1) Tires are less durable than in regular carts with inner tube and tough outer shell. This is a single-piece tire, so when you puncture it, this is it - there is no outer shell.
2) Bearings are funny - metal balls in plastic tracks. I don't expect them to be as durable as stainless bearings, and the tracks are a bit rough, something is catching, creating friction. Spraying lubricant didn't help. I had carts with bearings before, and these have a lot more friction that one would expect with bearings.
3) Wheeleez website says - Crossbar to ground 15" - leaving impression that this ground clearance. Nope. 15" is the cradle height. Ground clearance from axle is 11", and only in the middle of the axle, so don't try dragging it over 14"x14" boulders.

Inflating - you need a foot pump or a pump with a flexible tube. Regular bicycle pump won't fit because the valve is flush with tire surface.

Checking the pressure - it should be 2-4 PSI - is a pain too, you need a VERY accurate gauge, made for VERY low pressure range, preferably a digital. I have a pump with tube and a mechanical gauge for 8 PSI - it's not accurate. Wheeleeze sells both pump and gauge, not cheap, and I doubt that any mechanical gauge will be accurate. Use your common sense - the picture in booklet shows how you should be able to make a dent with both hands on inflated tire.
Pros
  • Aluminum frame
  • Fat tires for sand
Cons
  • Poor bearings
  • Single piece tire, difficult to repair
  • Not every bicycle pump will fit

Product makes your life so much easier. You do not have to hesitate leaving something behind, making and additional trip due to carrying limitations. Now you can focus on a prime reason you out there - fishing, sailing, boating or camping.

Purpose:
I bought this cart for transporting:
- Bags with Grabner Happy Cat inflatable sail-catamaran parts to the beach where I will be assembling it and back to the car;
- Assembled boat into and out of the water. I procured two carts for this task - one under each pontoon;
- Beach chairs, beach umbrellas and coolers for a family day at the beach.

Quality:
Looks sturdy and well made. Aluminum tubing frame is anodized, so it should last. Wheels can be easily removed or mounted on without any tools - they are secured with pins on the shaft. Pins have spring loaded locking rings to prevent them from falling off - great solution. Removable wheels makes storage and transportation of the cart so mach user friendlier. Two long ties provided, so make sure to use them. Otherwise, if terrain is somewhat resistant to rolling (ex.: sand, uneven surface), frame may fold.

Shipping:
The cart was delivered in OEM packaging. Delivery was fast.

Ordering:
No hassle - easy on-line process.
Pros
  • Sturdy, well made, wide wheels, removable wheels, reparable wheels, good weight capacity
Cons
  • Frame will fold if not tied to the object being transported.

Best thing ever
July 29, 2013
Had to move dingy from parking lot through a sand path down to the beach (about 1/2 football field) and this made it SOOO much easier than the heavy duty non-beach wheel dolly. Much effort saved and easy fold up so anchored dingy (180 lb wooden sail boat) and took back to van for safe keeping. Just too easy and so convenient.
Pros
  • Light weight, folds up for storage, makes life so much easier.
