They always slip down over my hips when I'm walking and constantly have to pull them up when i borrow a pair from a friend when we beach fish.

just large enough , you can put lot of tackle in for what you need surf/steam fishing.

It really is not a bad bag for the money. I use it for surf fishing during the Summer for Fluke and other bottom species. I fit my rain top and a 3600 box in one compartment and a Gulp Storage Box the size of a 3400 box in the other compartment. It has a few D rings for lanyards, a bottle holder, pork jar holder on either side of the bag portion, pliers shealth, and 2 rod holders. The rod holders will work if you are using light tackle. However, I would not use it to carry an additional rod all day. Just my opinion. It is good for holding a rod when baiting/changing lures. I would suggest buying some clip on suspenders along with the bag. The weight of everything I carry in it does weigh it down to the point where I find myself pulling it up and adjusting it. You can wear it either with the bag in the back or front. And it can spin around so you can easily access the bag.

The quality of the bag is not too bad either. The bag and zippers are not water resistant. It can hold up to spray, not a dunking. The zippers will last if you are not too hard on them. The stitching seems to be very good. And the strap is soft and can be adjusted with ease. And once you size it, it holds or locks in place. The Velcro, which keeps the rod holders on and helps keep their shape is of higher commercial grade quality.

It does not offer any back support at all. And like I said, it does weigh down some depending on the amount of gear you are carrying. Clip on suspenders will quell this. Or if you have a shoulder strap from another bag, you can attach it to the D rings on either side to wear around your shoulder to keep the bag from weighing down. This is the issue you run into with all bags of this type. Do not let it be the reason not to buy it.

In all it is quite a handy lumbar pack. It has a lot of storage space for its size and price. And thus far, it seems to be durable in the salt water. It can hold everything you would need for a day of fishing.

I purchased this bag for light tackle surf fishing the Southern California beaches. It has excellent capacity and the extra rod holders are a plus to facilitate carrying different setups depending on conditions. I do a lot of walking during this type of fishing and find the bag very comfortable. I would give it five stars if accessing the contents was easier once the bag is on. This is not specific to this bag but more to the design. I have found a slingpack and separate rod holder allow easier access to equipment and tackle. That being said, this is a very nice bag that suits my needs very well.

I bought this bag primarily for Spring/Summer surf fishing, and to act as a wader belt. It does get the job done, though I do have some issues with it. It is able to hold my packable surf top, and a (1) Plano 3600 Tray in the large pouch. It can hold 2 3600 boxes, without the top. In the smaller pouch I keep a Plano Gulp box. Same size as a (1) 3400 box. On the outside, it holds my pliers, and has a D Ring to attach the lanyard to. There is also a D Ring on the opposing side as well. Though they are small size rings. It also has a drink holder and 2 rod holders. The rod holders does work, but with some limits. For instance, if you need to change lure or tie on another leader. But I would not use it to store a second surf rod, as the description states. I believe if you use the rod holders constantly, the Velcro that keeps the diameter of the holder would wear quickly and fail to stay intact(hard to explain without a picture of it). And it has a small pouch for one jar of pork. However, with all of this gear in it, as the other reviewer pointed out, it will weigh down on us narrow hipped men! You can tighten the straps, which do not slip by the way, as much as you want, and still find yourself moving it up every so often. Suspenders would quell this issue. It also does not offer any lower back support at all. You are able to add items to the adjustable strap like a tin or bucktail holder for instance. However, the size of your waist will determine how much strap area you have for adding items. Larger waist, more strap area, and vice versa. This bag suits my needs when fishing from the shore during the Spring and Summer targeting Fluke. During the Fall Run, targeting Stripers, I do not believe this would be the bag of choice. Simply because of the vast array of lures, apparel, and equipment one must carry when walking the beach. I would look elsewhere in this case. This bag is not recommended for the angler that finds himself/herself carrying a lot of gear.

I purchased the WFO bag with hopes of being able to carry my gear and keep my hands free. As for the hands free- it worked to some extent. You can not put too much gear in this bag. It weighs it down far too much. Like most men, my hips are narrower than my waist so the bag keeps slipping down. The belt clasps slip as well so you can not really get it tight. I tied the belt clasps off so I could get the belt tight and then this makes it difficult to get to items in the bag pocket- I couldn't spin it. I think if the bag had some type of suspender attachment that would help significantly. Is the bag a total dud- well no. I can still use it but I wish I would have looked around a little bit more before I made my purchase.
