I started using this above My bullet weight on Texas rigs. It keeps the weight pinned to the plastic, which I think make the presentation look more real without the weight sliding freely up and down the line. Also work great for a bobber stop if not fishing too deep. Thanks
Pros
  • price
  • easy to use and put on line
  • size hardly noticed above weight
Cons
  • not sure if tying a loop in the line would allow it to be reused. This may possibly be the only downside not reusable.

Yes they are really easy to put on your line.
I was introduced to this type of a sinker stop or some call a bobber stop on a recent trip to El Novillo in Mexico (Great Bass lake), never used them before that trip. I have tried to peg the bullet weight for years and there is always an issue. Either the peg doesn't hold just right or if you try and cinch it too much it damages the line. Not with this method.
BUT, let me take it one step further for you to try. I have always for at least the past 25 years now, put a glass bead behind my bullet weights, always make they are "Glass" not plastic beads as they clack against the bullet weight. Now add this stopper about a 1/2 to one inch or so in front of that bullet and glass bead and it REALLY is clacking! Try it, surprised me!
Pros
  • Ease of use and additional clacking if used with a glass bead.
Cons
  • Made me buy 20 more units because they worked so well the first time out. ;-)

They and keep your weight pegged to the lure.. I like fishing mine about 1/2 inch above the lure T-rigged gives just enough pick up for natural fall and flutter of the soft plastic I'm throwing!
Pros
  • Last Long.. durability is great!

I use these so I can save time on switching between Texas and Carolina rigs. The stops hold the weight we’re I want it. I just slide em up to change to Carolina rig. Example below. ~•<•
