Havent catch that sail yet

I bought this hooks specially to catch sails off the coast of venezuela.... Trolling a ballyhoo.... Yet, I haven't had a chance to hook one. Although, just looking and playing around with the hook, you know its well made.

Nice sharp hook, but user beware

Bought these hooks for the spring striper run. I wound up hooking up to two (what felt like monster) stripers. After about a 2-3 minute fight on each fish, including a jump from one of them, I dropped both fish and went fish-less on the trip. Reason being, I set the hook hard as if I was using a traditional J-hook, but that is not necessary for these hooks. Just engage your reel, turn off your clicker, and let the fish hook itself and these hooks should slide right into the corner of its mouth. Lesson learned and can't wait to boat a couple this year having learned from my mistakes.

Great hook for a lot of big game applications! Use it for a lot of my livebaiting, have yet to see a faul hooked fish! A bit weak for the really big boys.

Gulf of Mexico bottom, jig fishing with the VMC 7385 Wide Gap size 9 circle hook was perfect experience. Easy set & firm hold for 36"+ Amber Jacks and slightly smaller but heavy Red & Gag Grouper was perfect!
